This is NGC 3190. It’s quite unique as you can see the asymmetric disc warping under the gravitational tidal interactions with other galaxies in our local group. It’s disc reminds me of two arms, stretched accross 75,000 light years of space, desperately trying to to embrace another close by. Initially it sounds like a lonely existence but then you must remind yourself, gravity is a form of connection, it has a endless reach, it’s infinite. My hands, despite having such a small mass and being so far away, still produce gravity that contributes to the warping of that galaxies disc. It’s on an incredibly small scale but that connection, that gravitational embrace we have with that Galaxy and the rest of the universe is an undesputed scientific fact.
