Astronomical Events for the Month of April 2021 💫 (Philippine Standard 🇵🇭) April 4 – Moon at Last Quarter The Moon will be prominent in the dawn sky, rising at around midnight. From Quezon City, it will be visible in the dawn sky, rising at 00:39 (PST) and reaching an altitude of 49° above the south-eastern horizon before fading from view as dawn breaks around 05:36. April 6 – Conjunction of the Moon and Saturn From Quezon City, the pair will be visible in the dawn sky, rising at 02:53 (PST) – 2 hours and 54 minutes before the Sun – and reaching an altitude of 35° above the south-eastern horizon before fading from view as dawn breaks around 05:35. The Moon will be at mag -10.9, and Jupiter at mag -2.1, both in the constellation Capricornus. April 7 – Conjunction of Moon and Jupiter From Quezon City, the pair will be visible in the dawn sky, rising at 02:53 (PST) – 2 hours and 54 minutes before the Sun – and reaching an altitude of 35° above the south-eastern horizon before fading from view as dawn breaks around 05:35. The Moon will be at mag -10.9, and Jupiter at mag -2.1, both in the constellation Capricornus. April 12 – New Moon As the moon starts a new cycle, it will not be visible at this time. The moon is in syzygy with the Earth and Sun, and it will rise and set around the same time as the Sun. April 17 – Conjunction of the Moon and Mars From Quezon City, the pair will become visible around 18:24 (PST) as the dusk sky fades, 54° above your western horizon.
