Every second the clock ticks a story happens simultaneously all over the world - the unseen included. Stories both real or imagined.

At the moment, some silly dog is barking at something he sees as interesting. The thing he is barking at has their own story. Like say a cat....

Meowster, the black cat, readies herself. Camouflaged by her black coat into the dark street, she places herself like a lion ready to pounce. She has been spying the critter every single night. She knows around this time, that little mouse will be sneaking out of its hiding and will pass by this small plant that she is hiding from. She has played this over and over in her head and she was successful every time in her simulations. Oh, she is excited. The thing is, when she is excited, she cannot for the life of her control her white tipped tail from sticking up and slowly waving side to side. From time to time her tail stirs the leaves. Stupid tail. The stirring of the leaves made that silly small dog from barking non-stop. Hopefully this does not spoil her plan. The dog was not in her simulations. Oh, if all else fails, there are roaches to practice her skills on anyway. While she waits, two sets of legs came into view. A pair of red stilletos and a pair of black leather shoes. The hilly village's streetlights shine off through these shoes and Meowster's attention was even more distracted. Nope. Not her night but ooh those lights!

Few minutes before Meowster's (she is a fictional cat by the way. Named by yours truly) plan is at the brink of getting spoiled, some couple may be having a dinner date somewhere they think no one would recognize them. Somewhere no one from each side's circle will be able to recognize them, snap a picture of them and send their intimate tête-à-tête over wine and steak to their original partners. After a while, they took the bill and decided to go for a walk. The restaurant they chose was tucked in the middle of a mountainous or hilly village. Most residents are already indoors. Their laughter (and the barking dog) is the only sound you can hear in the street along with the steady tapping of the girl's red stilletos. They were having a blissful night.

...while the cheating couple's laughter ring up the air of the quiet village

Andrew stares up at the ceiling of the room he rented in. New place. New life after his wife died. Renting here, renting there. It was fun for a bit. He sold their house they were suppose to live in after their wedding. But fate had its own plans and somehow they never got to their house after their honeymoon. There was an incident he refuses to playback in his memory. He sold his stuff - their stuff - and decided to just keep on traveling. It took his mind off of what happened.

But one can only go to many places and at some point get tired or run out of funds And in this silent, hilly town, he decided he will start a new life. He can work as a dishwasher in that cozy restaurant down the street. The owner seems friendly and he had a slight impression that he might just get that opening.

He sighed. The cold breeze entered his room through the open window. Along with the breeze a sound that made him catch his breath. The sound of laughter drifted up from the street below, making him feel very alone in this new town. He can hear two voices. A couple he imagined. Then another laughter and another.

Tears started to well up in his eyes.

Maybe just maybe this time he will give himself time to grieve.

So while that silly, now starting to get annoying, dog barks non-stop at something bark-worthy ...

...a cat was preparing to realize she is not yet the pouncer she imagined... Maybe trying to chase that stiletto will be more fun?

While that is being brewed, the happy cheating couple makes their way around the hilly town enjoying their stolen moment. Their laughter fills the air carried by the wind delivering bittersweet memories to a man who decides to settle down and start a new life.

But .

The sound of laughter drifted up from the street below, making him feel very alone in this new town.

First, he grieves for the nth time.

Ten minutes till the strike of midnight...

Here I am with silly thoughts to close the night

So while I poised my pen to write

The wind whispers and the pen glides...
