Creativity is a vital skill for any business and it can be helpful in our daily activities. The more creative we are, the more we can make breakthroughs and find new possibilities. People often think, that creativity is something, that you either have or don't have, this isn't the case. Creativity can be increased with some simple strategies. Here are six tips to help you to be more creative.
Create A Motivational Environment
One of the best ways to boost your creativity is by creating a motivational environment. This means making sure, that you give yourself positive feedback on how well you're doing at work or at in any situation. Have you noticed how some people are just so much more creative than others?
While this may be partially due to environment and life experience, there is no doubt that the brain is capable of a lot more. This can be as simple as thanking a friend or co-worker for their assistance on a project. Do something every day, that makes you feel good about your abilities.
Find Out What Interests You
To be able to be more creative, you might want to find out what is truly interesting to you. A big part of this is finding something, that you enjoy and are good at. This can be anything from playing a musical instrument to creating artwork. If you're not sure what would be interesting to you, then just try things. You never know what you would come across with, that grabs your attention. For example writing a poem or a novel not only a creative thing to do, but it can be challenging too.
Give Yourself Rewards
Self-motivation is very important. This means giving yourself rewards for all the hard work you do. The key is to give yourself a little reward after each successful accomplishment. You may be working on a big project, that needs creative ideas implementing. You can't just expect yourself to complete something if you don't have any motivation. This can be as simple as saving up a little money to buy something, that you've been wanting.
Get A Hobby
If you're having trouble with motivation, then consider getting a new hobby. One of the reasons why some people are more successful than others is due to their mindset and passion for what they do. If you're not passionate about your job, then you're going to have a hard time being productive and creative. The good thing is you don't need to devote all your free time to it.
Get up in the morning and do something during your commute to work, and then do something in your breaks. The more you're able to multi-task while performing a hobby, the better. One of the most important things is to keep an open mind on what is possible. While you probably have some ideas about what you would be interested in doing, it's always a good idea to broaden your horizons.
Create New Habits
There are a number of different ways of creating new habits. The way you go about changing your routine is entirely up to you. What ever you do, don't rely on willpower. Doing something you enjoy as mentioned before can be enough to keep you on task. It's important, that you find something that is fun though.
Habitual behavior can be a little bit harder to change, than one time actions because you need to make more steps in the right direction. The more steps you make in a day, generally the easier they will be. The first step is to identify the cue, that will tell you that it's time to do your habit. This could be something as simple as seeing the time or simply a feeling that tells you it's time to act.
The next step is to find an alternative routine, that will replace the habit. This action should be as similar as possible to the original routine, but substitute the cue with something else. If you try to do this all at once, you're likely to feel a great deal of anxiety.
This is because your brain will try to tell you that you're doing something wrong. This can be easily negated by taking little steps. The final step is to practice the routine until it becomes a new habit.
Replace Bad Habits With Small Victories
Bad habits are not going to help you to be more creative. Whenever you have the time and opportunity, try to substitute your bad habits with good habits. Eventually you'll start seeing results and it will become more natural to do them. In the beginning, you may not have the time or patience for this, but small wins are the key to setting yourself up for long-term success.
There are a wide variety of success habits you can develop. Try to think of something, that you would like to achieve and figure out how you can accomplish it in the smallest steps possible. After you complete one step, celebrate the victory and move on to the next step. Let me give you an example of how this works in my own life.
When I was younger, I had the tendency to get distracted easily. When this happened, it could sometimes take me a while to get something done, that I set out to do. I would then get frustrated when this happened, because I wanted to get everything done.
One solution I found was to not put anything on my To-Do list, that I didn't intend to get done that day. This meant, that I had a much smaller task list for myself to work with, and I only had to deal with it once a day. This might seem like common sense, but a lot of people fail to do this. They try to accomplish too much, too quickly, and then they get overwhelmed. If you do less and do it slower, you can accomplish a lot.
being creative is something that one must always adapt in order for them not to bore themselves especially nowadays that most places are on lockdown. we really have to find a way to entertain ourselves not only with watching netflix but things that can also improve ourselves.
