Thank God It's Friday!!!

Good evening readers. It's another weekend and the fun and relaxation have begun already. I met a discussion in one of the offices in place of work today. Three ladies and a guy were arguing about who works the most between a full housewife and a husband who goes the mile to make income for the family. It was a heated argument.

When I got to the scene and my opinion was asked, I just told a story of a typical Ibadan-based family in Nigeria.

Folake read law at the university. She was one of the top scholars for the year in the entire school with a very bright law practice. She went to law school in the north where she met one very rich rice farmer, Toheeb.

It was love at first sight for Toheeb. The radiating beauty of Folake can make a man want to commit. Folake was an easy-going Yoruba woman, well-mannered, and hardworking.

Her father is a retired hotel manager while her mother was a counselor.

It was in the final lap of her law school and Toheeb came to seek the services of a barrister over an unclaimed missing premium in one of the banks when he set his eyes on Folake. That day marked the beginning of a new era in his life.

The was used to facing business strictly. He doesn't have time for leisure alcohol or social gathering. You can call him a workaholic.

Things started to work out between them. Folake felt loved since she was an amateur. She had never been in love with anyone after her secondary school traumatic experience where her mother scolded her never to think of having a boyfriend. She had been caught with a love letter from an anonymous boy in her school.

The letter was such an epistle that Folake's mother read and laugh over the lyrics of Celine Dion's Because You Love me, crooner. The writer of the love letter took time to draw a heart with a spear cutting across while trying to paint a picture of heartbreak if Folake refuses his love. 💘

After her law school studies, Folake was made the legal advice of Toheeb's conglomerate of farms. It was juicy employment that it was difficult for her to want to return to Ibadan.

Since Folake had been a friend before becoming an employee to Toheeb, she would visit to keep his home and do some chores and make him some real African meals. The weekends were quite the time for Toheeb to stay home because of Folake's presence and her numerous delicacies.

On seeing the wife material in her, Toheeb proposed to Folake and that was the beginning of a new chapter for her. When she broke the news to her mother, she frowned at the differences in ethnicity, and later at the intervention of her father, the family agreed to accept Toheeb as their son-in-law.

They had a very wonderful wedding ceremony. And relocated to Toheeb's mansion in the heart of Kaduna.

A few months later, Folake became pregnant and scanned to be carrying a set of twins. There was so elevated that he requested that she stop going to the office as nothing must happen to the pregnancy. He ensured that everything Folake needed was provided. He doesn't want him to be stressed or fatigued at all.

The support staff in their home did everything for Folake. They went to the market, cooked the meals, did the laundry and every chore that needed to be done.

On the day of her delivery, Toheeb was at home and husband and wife were taking a walk around the garden, and suddenly, her water broke. When she noticed it, she whispered into Toheeb's ear. He just asked her to stay put while he ran inside to pick all the already packed baby kits into the car and carried her to the Federal medical center.

She has the twins via the cesarian section on the advice of the medical team. That was the beginning of another chapter.for her.

Folake mother traveled from Ibadan to Kaduna to help her daughter through the period. She stayed a year with her. During this period, she was at home, Toheeb requested that her salaries as the legal adviser to the conglomerate be paid.

After the one year traditional aid to her daughter, Folake's mother returned to Ibadan. It was like she is a newly wedded woman with the load of good that was bought for her and some for her husband, Folake's father.

Folake had to start taking personal care of her children since her mother was not on ground any more. She'd do the bathing, the breastfeeding, make them sleep.

Toheeb wanted her back to the office when the children were three years old but Folake refused. She said she want to keep an eye to her children. And since the income is settled, what more does she want as a woman. Toheeb has a different thought about this. He wants her to practice law and be involved in the business.

One evening, when they traveled to have a fun weekend, Folake and Toheeb started debating on which work is more difficult, a full house wife's duties or that of a secular job?

What is your take on this ladies?

As for my own view. Both responsibilities are heavy and strenuous. Being a housewife isn't easy, you gotta carry all the housechores, taking care of the childre and your husband, do the budgeting and many more. On the other hand, working for the family is difficult as well depend on the natureof your job. Nothing isn't easy, you both need each other to suport each other and not compare.

Folaje should get back to office pls. The work if a house wife is also hectic, but then I don't support women just staying at home doing nothing and waiting for their husbands. Anything can happen to the business of the other. Spouses need each other support actually.

I think a secular job is tougher.. A house wide also being a mother does her chores in happiness and peace since there's really no one to boss her around. But an employee is always stressed out.

This is tough. Just like what Kingsley said, it depends on the nature of the job or work. Housewives are also trying in the aspect of taking care of the home, children and cooking for the family.

To be sincere, the house work is more tough especially the nursing mothers without a house support. But it depends on the nature of the office work, if it's a bricklaying work, e choke

I think they are both doing well in their areas, but hey,as a man we should always be supportive and let our wives decided for themselves and then encourage them. I'm just a boy tho and not yet a girlfinder. 😂😂😂
