[Eng/Spanish] One Day Priest
Silently, Donald walked towards the monastery with his mind agitated whether to belong here or not. It's going to be a lifetime choice. One talk from the priest in the evening mass is not enough to convince him to become a seminarian.
Donald was touched in his heart of heart when Revered Father Sanches gave a talk on the benefits of consecration. It was his first time listening to such a heart provoking message.
When he got home, he confided in his mother that he would be considering going to the seminary. It was such a big shock for her but if her son could decide to become a monk, that must have been that he has gotten a pricking conviction.
When did you decide this? What happened to your dream of becoming a pilot?
Mrs Odrovilo asked with her eye bulls expanding in surprise. To become a monk, one has to consider the cost.
By status, Donald would not be considered for a priestly position.
He had dropped out of school because he belonged to a gang that harass other students, both male and female. They have waylayed a group of students and taken their personal belongings. This singular act resulted in a partial fear by students of the school and Donald and his friends were suspended from school.
For the shame of belonging to such a dastardly group, Donald refused to go back to school. He would rather like to resume in another school, likewise the other boys in the group.
Not long afterwards, Donald got involved in a fight with Timmy, a neighbour who is suffering from down syndrome. That was the height of it all apart from some teenage recalcitrant behaviours, Mrs Odrovilo sent him to a boarding school where he would be rehabilitated.
Every holiday, he comes back home to spend some time with his parents and other siblings. It was in one of the holidays, Easter to be precise, that he got the encounter that changed the whole of his reasoning.
Since he has decided to become a monk, Mrs Odrovilo decided to play along and give him the necessary support that he needed.
He got enrolled at the Tulsa Catholic Seminary. Here, the first six months is to make the seminarians understand the rudiments of what it takes to be called into the liturgy.
All new seminarians would have to wake up very early to read the sacrament and attend morning mass. This was what Donald was not cut out for. He would rather have a good sleep till daybreak.
This is another hell.
Donald thought.
He had to deal with that and before you know it, he has adjusted to waking up in the morning.
However, Donald found it difficult to take part in the daily fast. He would hide somewhere around the monastery to eat some food and pretend to others like he was fasting. This he did until the first six months were over.
All students were asked to have a recess for three weeks and come back to the monastery to continue their priesthood and only those who returned will be considered as ready to take up the duty of a priest.
Donald while at home for the recess had a rethink. He has earned his lessons but didn't think he was called out to be a priest. He started feeling how possible it is that he would not fall in love and perhaps have his children.
He made a final decision to be of good behaviour but not to return to the seminary to continue as a priest.
On the day of resumption, he told his mother Mrs Odrovilo that he had changed his mind.
Donald returned to his former school and became a very responsible student and was made a school prefect for his latest decent personality.

En silencio, Donald caminó hacia el monasterio con su mente agitada sobre si pertenecer aquí o no. Va a ser una elección de por vida. Una charla del sacerdote en la misa de la tarde no es suficiente para convencerlo de que se convierta en seminarista.
Donald se conmovió en su corazón cuando el venerado Padre Sanches dio una charla sobre los beneficios de la consagración. Era la primera vez que escuchaba un mensaje tan conmovedor.
Cuando llegó a casa, le confió a su madre que estaría considerando ir al seminario. Fue un gran shock para ella, pero si su hijo pudo decidir convertirse en monje, eso debe haber sido que ha recibido una condena punzante.
> ¿Cuándo decidiste esto? ¿Qué pasó con tu sueño de convertirte en piloto?
Preguntó la señora Odrovilo con sus ojos expandiéndose sorprendidos. Para convertirse en monje, uno tiene que considerar el costo.
Por estatus, Donald no sería considerado para una posición sacerdotal.
Había abandonado la escuela porque pertenecía a una pandilla que acosa a otros estudiantes, tanto hombres como mujeres. Han dejado a raya a un grupo de estudiantes y se han llevado sus pertenencias personales. Este acto singular resultó en un miedo parcial por parte de los estudiantes de la escuela y Donald y sus amigos fueron suspendidos de la escuela.
Por la vergüenza de pertenecer a un grupo tan cobarde, Donald se negó a volver a la escuela. Preferiría reanudar en otra escuela, al igual que los otros niños del grupo.
Poco después, Donald se involucró en una pelea con Timmy, un vecino que sufre de síndrome de Down. Ese fue el punto álgido de todo, aparte de algunos comportamientos recalcitrantes adolescentes, la Sra. Odrovilo lo envió a un internado donde sería rehabilitado.
Cada día festivo, regresa a casa para pasar un tiempo con sus padres y otros hermanos. Fue en una de las fiestas, Pascua para ser precisos, que consiguió el encuentro que cambió todo su razonamiento.
Como ha decidido convertirse en monje, la Sra. Odrovilo decidió seguir el juego y darle el apoyo necesario que necesitaba.
Se matriculó en el Seminario Católico de Tulsa. Aquí, los primeros seis meses son para hacer que los seminaristas entiendan los rudimentos de lo que se necesita para ser llamados a la liturgia.
Todos los seminaristas nuevos tendrían que levantarse muy temprano para leer la Santa Cena y asistir a la misa de la mañana. Esto era para lo que Donald no estaba hecho. Preferiría dormir bien hasta el amanecer.
> Este es otro infierno.
Pensó Donald.
Tuvo que lidiar con eso y antes de que te des cuenta, se ha adaptado a despertarse por la mañana.
Sin embargo, a Donald le resultó difícil participar en el ayuno diario. Se escondía en algún lugar alrededor del monasterio para comer algo de comida y fingir a los demás como si estuviera ayunando. Esto lo hizo hasta que terminaron los primeros seis meses.
A todos los estudiantes se les pidió que tuvieran un recreo durante tres semanas y regresaran al monasterio para continuar con su sacerdocio y solo aquellos que regresaron serán considerados.

Donald mientras estaba en casa para el recreo tuvo un replanteamiento. Se ha ganado sus lecciones, pero no creía que fuera llamado a ser sacerdote. Comenzó a sentir lo posible que es que no se enamorara y tal vez tuviera a sus hijos.
Tomó la decisión final de ser de buen comportamiento, pero no de regresar al seminario para continuar como sacerdote.
El día de la reanudación, le dijo a su madre, la Sra. Odrovilo, que había cambiado de opinión.
Donald regresó a su antigua escuela y se convirtió en un estudiante muy responsable y fue nombrado prefecto de la escuela por su última personalidad decente.
