Efe's Little Secret

One night, when there was no power supply, everywhere was as silent as a graveyard. Everyone went to sleep on time since the spike of kidnapping and armed robbery around town was in the high. Mr and Mrs.. Johnson and their children went to sleep early too. Certainly, there won't be a power supply that night so they lit the lamp and went to sleep.

Around midnight, a gang of two armed robbers broke up into their house and woke Mr. Johnson from his sleep who was later going to wake other members of his family as led with a fun pointed to his back head by one of the robbers. Now, everyone was gathered in the living room, lying flat facing the floor. Then the great question:

As you can see, you are being robbed. We are very impatient and won't be taking any waste of time.

Just go in and bring out the five million nairas you brought home last night.

Shocked.

Mr. Johnson silent spoke and said:

That's outrageous gentlemen. I haven't seen such an amount of money in my entire life.

Then the other robber answered:

No, Mr. Johnson. The money was brought home by your wife. So, waste no time turning the money in or you all will be dead.

Mrs. Johnson was so perplexed that f a whole five million naira was traveled to her, a petty trader whose entire shop cannot cost up to a hundred thousand nairas.

Now things are becoming weird. The armed robbers starting mumbling to each other.

How do we get to pay for renting these arms, now that these people are refusing to own up that they have any money?

So, they decided that one of them should lead Mrs. Johnson to search the entire apartment.

As that move was made, Efe; the second son had thought earlier that this armed robbery mission shouldn't just go into searching, else his little secret will be revealed.

Nonetheless, one of the armed robbers led Mrs. Johnson to the rolls and nothing was found. Two hours into the robbery, nothing tangible had been achieved by the robbers except putting everyone up from their sleep.

Since nothing was found in the rooms, not a single naira, the armed robber led Mrs. Johnson back to the living room.

The two armed robbers became very hungry, they needed to eat something.

Mrs. Johnson, take me to your kitchen.

They went to the kitchen and the whole put, empty. Except for the last three packs of noodles and spices they had planned to eat in the morning as breakfast.

These will do.

As Mrs. Johnson started cooking the noodles, the armed robbers spotted nylon of sliced vegetables by the corner of the plate rack and demanded that the vegetables be added to the noodles. Before long, the food is ready and serves in two different dishes under close supervision by one of the armed robbers while the other watched over the remaining members of the Johnsons as they lay low facing the floor in the living room.

They munched the food hurriedly like hungry lions. Just before they could finish the food, one of the robbers started pulling his cloth like he was going to fight his colleague. It was strange behavior. Without mincing words, the other robbers quickly pulled his gun pointing at Mrs. Johnson, querying:

What did you add to the food, woman?

Nothing! Nothing!! She shouted frightening as he pointed the gun at her face.

I only added some vegetables as recommended by him. I don't even know how the vegetables got there.

Mummy, it belongs to Efe. He was hiding it under his bed but I relocated it to the kitchen in an attempt to make him search hard for it. Adaobi interfered.

Then the same robber took a close look at the vegetable particles in the plate.

Marijuana?

The intoxicated robber had already fallen asleep, with his mask still worn over his head.

Mr. Johnson was dumbfounded and couldn't believe his son had been using Marijuana.

A bang on the door by the estate security guards was the last straw that broke the camels back. The sane robber carried the other one who was already asleep in an attempt to escape through the back door, still pointing a gun at all the Johnsons. He made his way through the kitchen door as Mr. Johnson shouted:

Thief, thief.

Outside the house

The estate guards arrested the armed robbers and unmasked them only to discover they live few metres away.

Efe's little secret was exposed but at least the armed robbers were caught too.
