The Ministry of Finance proposed to abandon the ban on cryptocurrencies. Ivan Chebeskov, director of the Financial Policy Department of the Ministry of Finance, said that he opposes the ban on cryptocurrencies in Russia. He made such a statement during the session “Cryptoindustry: trends, technologies, regulation” as part of the RBC-Crypto conference in Moscow. According to him, the department has developed a concept for regulating this market and sent it to the government. “Here it is necessary to give an opportunity to develop these technologies (mining, etc.). In this regard, the Ministry of Finance is actively involved in the development of legislative initiatives in terms of regulating this market. And in turn, we have a prepared concept of regulation, which we are discussing within the Ministry of Finance and now it has been sent to the government apparatus,” he said. Chebeskov noted that the authorities need to protect the interests of citizens who buy cryptocurrency or use it in any technological solutions. Therefore, the government needs to regulate this area, and not ban it. This, Chebeskov explained, will ensure transparency to protect citizens. The official also pointed out that the world has become highly virtualized, and technologies are developing at such a speed that Russia simply cannot afford to “just take one of the high-tech industries in some way to ban and say, let it develop into some kind of other country". #btc #bitcoin #blockchain #ethereum #eth #cryptocurrency #business #binance #bitcoin #exchange
