I was puzzled!.........How did my baby figure out money is used to buy pizza and samosa? He's been crying today and won't stop saying the same statement "mommy give money!" I was amazed at Sage's incoherent phrase while we were playing at the veranda because I never taught him about money (not just yet), I mean he's basically 27 months old so the idea of MONEY would be too far off. I am not even sure if he understood what would be the money for. Eventually, he checked in my bag, found my purse and there were only 10 SCR coins. He took it and asked, "mask?" And I was surprised! What on earth is my baby asking me for? Of course, his phrase is grammatically incorrect but you could understand what he meant by asking, "mommy mosa,(short for samoza) pizza!" I have to take the coins but he vehemently said, "mommy give money...mosa, pizza, shop!" And I felt like having a charade game trying to connect the dots. Since yesterday when we went to the shop he asked for Samosa and Pizza but because it was already closed so we told him that today we would buy it however we forgot that they don't open on Sundays. So I figured out that he wanted money because he would buy samosa and pizza at the shop, likewise he needed a mask. I told his dad when he came from work and was also surprised like I did. Somehow I was thinking whether babies' brains are wired to their surroundings even without teaching them? This is not the only instance that my baby uttered words/phrases/incorrect sentences that I have to ask my hubby whether he had taught him those. For example... one time he said, "mommy jeune fille?" ( and I was like what?) another time he said, "la bouche? ( touched my mouth and I couldn't even figure it out at once) jeez, I know my French is only at "bonjour!"
