And while we're in the hottest hours of the day... a couple cocktails help spend the time until we hit the sand. Half of Lisboa probably had the same idea today, but with this heat wave it's probably one of the wisest ideas. It's so great to have such a huge coastline!

Another season ending in Splinterlands! I made it to Champion III last season and was able to gather 52 chests; by the champion chest bonuses, I should have gotten at least 4 golds and 1 legendary... but nope, lady luck was not in my side! 😄 No legendaries, but got 2 packs and 2 golds, one of them epic! So can't really complain, can I?

Been too long since I posted a sunset here, so here it is: praia da Falesia, Portugal. A huge strip of sand, below a very tall cliff that gives the beach its name. There are a few points that offer a good view from above, and this is one of them. Definitely missing some beach days! :)

Finally! The first legendary summoner of the Chaos Legion has been airdropped! Splinterlands keeps being addictive as hell, and although I only got 1 airdropped summoner, decided to open 5 more packs to celebrate. The result? Another legendary summoner on my collection, Quix!

My wildlife photography: the indian peacock, Pavo cristatus. This is another one of those "wildlife" posts, since these peacocks (or better said, peahens) were photographed in an urban park in Portugal, faaaar away from their natural habitat. But loved seeing them, since it was the first time ever I saw peachicks! They're lovely, already with a cute little crest. I only saw a couple males at the park, away from the peachicks, but the peahens were always close to them.

Definitely I'm improving my fitness level: for the first time ever, managed to ride to work in less than 40 minutes! Probably have the right tire pressure also helped. Next objective, sub 35 min!

My wildlife photography: the black headed gull, Chroicocephalus ridibundus. Despite their name, only in Summer will these gulls develop a dark head (which actually is not exactlyblack...). But in this winter plummage they can easily be identified by that black spot after the eye. Here, a full family was enjoying the views over the calm water of lake Como, in Italy.

My (kind of) wildlife photo: the domestic duck, Anas platyrhynchos domesticus. Well, this doesn't count as wildlife photo... but the ducklings are so damn cute I couldn't resist! This family was seen relaxing in an urban park, in southern Portugal. I even caught one of the little ones yawning! :)

My wildlife photography: the white breasted waterhen, Amaurornis phoenicurus. This family visited the garden of the hostel where I stayed in Sri Lanka, searching for breakfast. The hostel was near a lagoon, and it was an amazing birdwatching place! I feel even more blessed when the birds actually comes to us, and not otherwise!

Don't remember last time I went to a concert, but finally back, thanks to John Legend! He performed in Cascais, and gave quite a show. It's always great when, apart from the good show, the artist knows how to interact with the audience; and he did it perfectly!

My wildlife photography: the orange chinned parrot, Brotogeris jugularis. Saw this cute couple on my last days in Costa Rica, near the beach. They were very busy around their nest on the tree, and both stared at me in a defying stance when I got closer to the tree to take the photo.

Sometimes you're roaming around, and you find a pearl. Humor is a must in my life, and this little restaurant in Cadiz, Spain, has one of the best restaurant names I've ever seen. It's in spanish ofc, but for the non speaking ones, it literally translates to "The fat lady gives you food"!! 😁😁😁

My wildlife photography: the greater coucal, Centropus sinensis. I only spotted him twice, on my trips to Asia. It belongs to the cuckoo family, but he doesn't parasite other bird's nests. With such striking colours and a pretty decent size, it's impossible not to recognise it, if you know the species... and now you do! :)

Itsy bitsy spider... have no idea what species it is, but sure has a decent size. Photographed this one in Doñana national park, in southern Spain. Funny web construction, with a little silk-made cave, where the spider would retreat! Caught her after her web inspection, she probably didn't liked me snooping around, and decided to hide.

My wildlife photography: the azorean blackbird, Turdus merula azorensis. Although almost identical to the common blackbird, this one is a subspecies found in Açores islands. As with the common blackbird, the bright yellow beak tells us its an adult male. Found this one peaking through the bushes in São Jorge island; he was being noisy, so it was easy to spot! :)

My wildlife photography: the great egret, Egretta alba. This is a much rarer sighting than the common little egret; the plummage is very similar, but the size is not. As the name implies, great egrets are way bigger, about the size of a great heron; apart from sheer size, another way to identify them is by the beak, yellow in the great egret and black in the little one. Too bad the photos aren't great, but this was as close as I could get, with a full zoom.

For the ones playing Rising Star, a useful tip! I haven't been carrying out missions when they required Can of Petrol, given how expensive they are. Well, just found out they aren't consumed!! So the ones you buy will be able to be used over and over again. I feel kind of dumb for only finding out now, but better late than ever! Sharing here because I have a feeling I wasn't the only one "fooled" all this time! :)

Oh well, all good things come to an end. Time to return home from well spent vacations; good thing is the memories remain... at least until Alzheimer comes! 😁😁 Can't wait to see my wildlife photos in the zoom camera, hopefully I got some cool photos to share. Meanwhile, the smartphone ones will have to do!

And now, Cadiz by day! Decided to take a mini break from the beach and explore the streets a little. The old town is very cool, tons and tons of little streets, and a lot of old buildings. Being close to sea also makes it a little cooler, so nicer temperatures to walk around.

Cadiz by dusk and night. I barely visited the old city, given that the beach is great and takes all my time. 😁 Nevertheless, the old city walls, the cathedral, and some ancient buildings surely deserve a proper visit.

First end of season in Splinterlands after the new reward system: instead of the 30 chests in gold I, I got over 70! Not that luck in the rewards but still, the potencial is huge. Just takes a bit more play time or fine tuning your strategies!

Doñana is a national park in Spain, known because of the Iberian Lynx, one of the most endangered feline species in the world. Didn't spot him unfortunately, but still plenty of wildlife! Some lagoons have dried, which was a surprise. Kites, egrets, and a ton of other species spotted, can't wait to check the zoom camera photos!

Enjoying my time here... but its crazy hot! Today the thermometer on the street showed 45 C! And when I finished dinner, almost at 11 pm still 35 C! Andaluzian summers 🙂. Today was the day to see the cathedral and the Alcazar.

It's been a few years since I've been here... but Sevilla still has its charm. And one of the things I love about Spain also holds true: everyone on the streets! Amazing the amount of people walking, socialising, and enjoying the awesome weather... and views!

Leaving sights and sounds of Portugal behind, and off to Spain! But no doubt I live in an awesome country, and there's a ton of places I should revisit and discover. My last national trip made me discover the beauty of the contry's center. Now the question is... where next? :)

Four days to Splinterlands season ending, and I can see that the new system, although requires more playing time, is definitely more rewarding to players. I will receive more chests in season ending in both accounts, and especially in my alt account playing in gold league, the difference to previous system is huge! And today I even got lucky: my first Jared!! One of the new reward cards I definitely want to max.
