Daily wildlife photography: the grey heron, Ardea cinerea. I love the way herons stay motionless in the shallow water, waiting for the next meal to approach; I think this one had her eyes already fixed on target! They're the biggest herons in portuguese avifauna, if I'm not mistaken; and can easily be identified by their size and grey plummage. Photos taken near Peniche, Portugal.

Pretty common in parks here as well, although this one was in the middle of nowhere! :)
