Daily wildlife photograhpy: the black-headed gull, Choricocephalus ridibundus. Despite the name, her head is not black! During the mating season, she has a dark brown hood. In the winter months, the black dot in the head is all that remains from the dark head colour. The one in this photo was photographed during winter, in estuário do Sado, Portugal. #Photography
