Not exactly an artistic person, but loved to find this in the middle of nowhere: a bird sculpture, on top of a chimney, in a decaying factory. It was even more special at sunset. May 2022 be as bright as this sun for all of us!

Finishing the task of checking my current crypto portfolio, and starting to define objectives for this coming year. Even more important than the objectives, is also defining HOW will I try to reach them! Posting and gaming will be a good part of it for sure, as well as regular studying, still unclear about the other strategies; the end of the road may seem a little foggy for now, but I'm sure it will clear up pretty soon! ;) Are you defining any objectives for this year?

And here we go, to the first one of the year! My wildlife photography: the common stonechat, Saxicola rubicula. The coolest thing about these guys, is that they're show offs! So they're very easy to spot, a great species to the newbie birdwatchers: they normally stand on top of the bushes, and they have distinct colour patterns, making them easy to identify. The first one is a female, males have black heads.

Whit crazy days at work, barely have time to look at the crypto market. But noticing now that BTC is in the golden zone. Will it reverse? If the donwtrend continues, I'm seeing a MASSIVE head and shoulders... hodl on to your bags, this can be a bumpy ride!

My wildlife photography: the european robin, Erithacus rubecula. It had been ages since I was able to photograph a robin, which is actually strange given how common they are. I do hear them all the time, even in urban gardens. In this location they are even more common, in a rural area. This one was enjoying the shadow of an olive tree, while jumping quickly to the ground to catch its next meal.

Since late last year, started to join with some friends in sunday mornings, to have breakfast and talk about cryptos. We started calling these gatherings "cryptotoasts", and they're a great way to socialise and check our projects. So to keep up with good habits... first cryptotoast of they year: done!

My wildlife photography: the white nosed coati, Nasua narica. I was so lucky to find this little guy roaming in Costa Rica. Although they are a social species, adult males wander alone, only joining the female groups in the breeding season; they are diurnal, and this one was probably foraging for food, climbing the tree searching for fruits or insects.

Epics and legendaries aside, what is better than one rare card in a Splinterlands pack? 4 of them! Got lucky in my last gladius case, after last brawl! Four more rare cards to build my gladiators. Slowly starting to be able to level some of my rares to level 2. It's a way tougher climb than with normal cards, given how you can only get these packs by participating in guild brawls, but still a ton of fun!

My wildlife photography: the little egret, Egretta garzetta. Little egrets are common in my country, and they're easy to identify: we only have other egret with this size and colour, the cattle egret, but little egrets can be easily identified by their yellow feet contrasting with the black legs. What is not common is seeing them were these photos were taken: at the beach, in the low tide! Maybe she needed some salt in her diet? :)

After one crazy work day, decided to relax and do my daily quests on Splinterlands. And after almost a full season of crap rewards... one legendary on my main account, another on my alt account! Best way to finish the day. So if you feel some lack of motivation due to not so great rewards... keep on battling! You never know when lady luck decides to show up!

My wildlife photography: the ruddy turnstone, Arenaria interpres. This little bird is often found in groups, and it's very common in beaches and coastal areas. You can normally see them foraging for food in the sand; probably where its english name came from, only now I learned they were called turnstones! The literal translation to their portuguese name would be sea doves. No other similar species exists with this collor pattern in the country.

Travelling is one of the things where spending money makes you richer. I've been fortunate enough to travel quite a bit before global madness appeared; and while I can't travel where I want nowadays, I can always remember where I've been. Asia is on top of my destinies to revisit. Here, a magical place: Angkor-Wat, Cambodja, 5 years ago. Seeing the sunrise behind the main temple is a must have experience!

Splinterlands season is about to end, but this is the most important timer for me right now. Two more days for the general sale opening, and I'm excited to increase my collection and finally starting to open some chaos legion packs. After this season, I'll probably finish my new reward cards collection as well, and it will be the first time I can get one set maxed! Good luck on those season rewards!

My wildlife photography: the crab-esting macaque, Macaca fascicularis. I photographed these among the ruins of Angkor Wat, Camboja. And while some were preening themselves quietly among the trees, two groups were engaging in gang wars! Rival groups will often fight, but what I wasn't expecting was seeing a pig that probably likes to live dangerously simply walking through the battlefield, among all the menacing sounds and strikes! #pigthatcoudn'tcareless

After last Splinterlands brawl, got another Quora; for me, it's one of the best epic gladiators, a huge beast on the battlefield. The game just keeps on giving, and in a little bit over one hour, Chaos Legion general sale will open! There are already bets about how many packs will fly in the first 24h, and we're talking about millions for sure! I'm eagerly waiting to get my hands on a bunch of packs. Does it feel like a late Christmas for you too? ;)

BCH along with crypto market in general is taking a beating in these last weeks. But see it on the bright side: it's a great chance to accumulate more! How often do we think we should have stacked more crypto when the market rises? Besides, posting on Noise brings even more rewards: 1$ worth of BCH nowadays will get you a lot more BCH than just a few weeks ago. So relax, learn some more about the market, and keep stacking those sats!

Finally finished sorting my Açores photos. The number came down to a little over 600, from more than 1000 photos; one of the cool things about digital photography, you can click away and the chances of getting some decent photos are better. Sure, I waste a ton of time deleting the blurry photos or the ones very similar... but in the end, totally worth it! Here you go, one from each island: Pico, São Jorge and Faial.

After over three years playing Splinterlands... I'M FINALLY A MAVERICK. One becomes a maverick after buying at least 1000 packs. Yes, it's a decent investment... but also a way of supporting a team that has been making everything as it should be and made this the #1 blockchain game: a totally deserved title in my opinion. I guess I have some occupation for the next weeks: opening packs and crossing fingers! ;)

Sights from Madeira island, a couple years ago. Madeira has dozens of hiking trails, commonly called "levadas". These are the views from a very short trail, around 1,5km, called "Miradouro dos Balcões". And what it lacks in size, it compensates in landscape: at the end of the trail, there's a belvedere with the stunning view on the first photo.

My wildlife photography: the Madeiran chaffinch, Fringilla coelebs maderensis. These photos were taken near the belvedere from my last post, during a martial arts demonstration by the chaffinches. Nearby the arena, other chaffinches perched in the trees were chearing for their favourite. I can't recall who won... but I can assure no chaffinch was hurt despite the acrobatic movements. :)

My wildlife photography: the common buzzard, Buteo buteo. Near my home, there is a couple of these birds of prey, that I see more frequently now. Unfortunately, not for the best reasons: where there used to be a big field of bushes and scattered trees, only one tree remains; the tree where they perch nowadays. I wonder if I will see them again if/when the green will give way to another piece of concrete jungle.

Feels even better when you do things by our own hands, right? Bricolage gene hasn't come to me naturally, but more and more I like to do house repairs by myself. And although I tend to stay away from electricity, this had to be taken care of... and it did! Starting the day fixing stuff! 😎

Surfing is one of the sports I miss practicing. Although I really suck at it, it's really relaxing to be out in the sea trying to glide through the waves. Been battling a foot injury on these last months, but seems I'm finally improving! This photo was taken by a friend, that decided to appear at the beach by surprise and snap this cool memory.

My wildlife photography: urban birdwatching! It's amazing the amount of different species we can see just by looking out the window. That's what I did a couple days ago... and among the blackbirds and the redstarts, a rarity! The wagtail on the first photo is a british subspecies, that it's not a common visitor in Portugal; actually, it was the first time I saw one! Portuguese (european) wagtails have a grey back, while this one is black.

With the caos at work in these past weeks, I miss summer vacations even more! :) Warm weather, beach, and sunsets; don't need much more to be happy! Remembering the semi-desert beaches at southern Portugal, a couple summers back: a full week of surf, sea, and sand... and good memories. ;)

It's been a while since I had such a peaceful moment just to enjoy the beauty of the golden hour. As soon as I got out of the car, the sun was setting, at one of the best beaches near Lisboa; and the scattered clouds were just in the right place to make the sunset even more beautiful. I only had the smartphone, so the photos really don't do justice to the landscape. Hoping for more afternoons like this one!

Celebration time! Been battling a foot injury for the last few months. It didn't stop me from doing normal life, but running was impossible... until today! After almost half a year, finally was able to run pain free again! It was only 10 minutes, but felt as good as my usual 8k runs. Time to pop up a wine bottle, and enjoy the moment with a healthy meal!

I think it's probably the first time in my Splinterlands gaming that I have a full card daily rewards! And three rares! I only need 2 more reward cards maxed to have a full set of these last rewards, and given their bigger supply, it's a golden opportunity for anyone that want to build their deck with cheap cards. Let's just hope I'll be this lucky on tyhe season rewards, less than 2 days left!

My wildlife photography: the panamanian white-faced capuchin, Cebus imitator. They are highly social animals, so they are normally seen in groups. Came across a few of these little devils in Parque nacional Manuel Antonio, in Costa Rica; they were actually behaving nicely, eating leaves and jumping around, without trying to snatch any belongings from the tourists. :)

At the deadline... but finally managed to get back to Champion III in this Splinterlands season! And to top it up, a surprise on my daily rewards: a pack! The team changed their decision, and fortunately Chaos Legion packs can also drop now as part of the daily rewards. It showed as an essence orb, but unfortunately it's a bug, since they're long gone.
