I read a lot of negativity lately about the whole cryptocurrency market. Many are thinking about it again and while there are reasons to feel scared to invest too much, there are also valid grounds to keep believing in Crypto. - Transfer of money is instant and cheap with options such as Bitcoin Cash. How can banks, compete with that? Those that don't realize this, have never used any cryptocurrency before. Or perhaps tried to use BTC which has long abandoned the currency features. - DeFi is a revolution on its own. While I had reservations about Ethereum and still have, I can't deny the fact that smart contracts will be used in every part of our financial life. The banks are also interested and it will not take long (2-3 years max) before they implement DeFi smart contracts in the lending procedures. They haven't done so already as the regulations don't allow it. - NFTs. This is not just a fad or short-term craze. NFTs will become an integral part of the entertainment sector, but will also become more used with tokenization of assets and ownership. NFTs will evolve Real-Estate. Property will become tokenized and validated using NFTs (or similar technology). Why? Because it will be more practical, reduce bureaucracy, increase and protect ownership and reduce the power of governments on ownership. And this is just the beginning. What started as a blockchain revolution has evolved into tokenization and smart contract functionality and we can't imagine what will be next. When I started my Crypto journey in mid-2017, there was no DeFi at all, and NFTs were a small part of Ethereum with just Cryptokitties. Four years later this is already ten times bigger than when I joined. What do you think this industry will evolve to after 10-20 years? How can this not go on without changing every aspect of finance? There are some very intelligent people working on it and bringing results the traditional finance and banking didn't even think was possible. This is why some of us stay and don't care for short-term volatility.
