Ruel

Ruel is my childhood friend in Papillon Street. I met him when we transferred to that place. His mother was my Lola's friend. So every time Aling Rose(the mother) will go to our house, he was always with her. I think I was 10 so was he. I like to play with him because he looks so kind. He was also skinny so I always tease him "patpat." He would just smile every time.

We both went to the same school in high school, APHS. We always went together with our friend Raquel. Our class starts at 6:30 so we have to be early. Her mother would take him to our house around 5:30, while I was waiting for him patiently. Then we will go to school together.

He has his friends at school so am I but we always went home together. He would patiently wait for me every time I had to do some errands for my teachers. Then I had to transfer to a different school so we only see each other every weekend. Sometimes he will go to our house to chitchat. He is a family friend so very welcome sya house.

I think we were in our third year in high school when he told me that he has a girlfriend. He was so happy and I was happy for him too. At that time I had also a boyfriend.

I started having feelings for him noong fourth year na ako, Kasi naman, biglang nag glow up ang gago (opps,sorry for the word). We had this tambayan, in Bilat's house, she's one of our friends. Every Friday night, we all go there to hang out, sound trip and chitchat. Sa aming magkakaibigan, kami talaga yun close. Even before na mga bata pa kami.

Our friends noticed our sweetness. They started teasing Ruel, asking if he is interested in me. Ngumingiti lang ang patpat, ay di na pala sya patpat that time. So I was like so kilig pero di ko pinapahalata. Then one time, it was me, Michelle, Ruel and Leean lang sa tambayan. When Leean told me na crush ako ni Ruel.

Siempre ako eh kinilig pero I told them na wag nila ako ginugood time. So I asked Ruel if totoo ba? Ang gago eh ngumiti lang sabay kindat, pastilan! Pero mga teh, super kilig ako that time. Sa sobrang kilig eh napaexcuse me ako at napapunta ng banyo dahil naiihi na ko sa kilig, hahaha!

So after that day, we get super close pa lalo. I think na feel nya din talaga na gusto ko sya. Madalas yun tagpuan namin sa tambayan, hahaha! That tambayan of ours was katabi lang ng bahay namin. Bilat's mother is a family friend din kaya very open kami sa house nila.

Then I think nakarating sa mother ni Ruel yun kalandian namin, lol! Pinagbawalan sya na tumambay na doon sa amin. Pero pumupuslit sya paminsan-minsan. Ruel is the youngest kasi. His 2 brothers eh mga hindi nakapagtapos ng pag-aaral so parang sya na lang yung pag-asa ng mama nya.

So nalimitahan yun pagkikita namin, although nag-eeffort naman tlaga sya kapag nagkikita kami. Wala kaming label pero we knew na we had something between us. I really like him kasi unlike sa ibang guy na maloko, sya kasi eh mabait talaga. Hindi mo sya makikita na tumatambay sa labas. Doon lang talaga sya pumupunta sa tambayan namin para makita ako(ayiieee,enebe)😂.

But our kalandian was short-lived. I don't know exactly what happened pero naging malaking factor si Aling Rose doon.

Then after 5 or 6 years yata na wala kaming communication dahil nga umalis ako sa lugar na yun at nagdecide na mamuhay mag-isa somewhere, nabalitaan ko na lang na may asawa na sya. And that he was working abroad. May asawa na din ako that time. Nabalitaan ko yun kay Aling Rose mismo, noong nadalaw ako sa bahay ng Tita ko. Pero gusto ko sana din sya talaga makita. Yun kasi yung huling pagkikita namin sa tambayan.

Then one time, nagbakasyon ako noon sa Manila kasama anak ko kasi mag-aabay sya sa kasal ng pinsan ko. I was having a nap sa kwarto then may narinig ako kausap yung tita ko sa labas. Very familiar sa akin yun boses. So tumayo ako agad, pero nun paglabas ko eh wala na sya. Then sabi ng Tita ko it was Ruel daw and Aling Rose. Nagpapatulong daw sana si Ruel sa Papa ko na makapasok sa company na pinapasukan ng papa ko that time sa Saudi. Supervisor kasi Papa ko doon.

Super nanghinayang talaga ako as in. Sinabi din ng Tita ko na andun ako that time pero sabi ni Ruel eh wag na daw ako gisingin. And that time pala eh hiwalay na sya sa asawa and his kids eh wife nya.

I was so tempted na kumustahin sya. Gustung-gusto ko sya puntahan sa kanila kaso tinubuan ako ng hiya, hahaha!

Then nalaman ko na lang na nag stay si Ruel sa Manila kasi nag-aasikaso na bumalik ulit abroad. And then ako eh pabalik na din ng Capiz noon. So we never got the chance na magkita man lang.

Nagkasya na lang ako sa pag stalk sa FB nya, and gosh, he is so manly compared noon na patpatin sya. I also wanted to send him a message pero nagpigil ako. I think it is the best thing to do.

Closing thought

I just thought na siguro kung di lang sya pinagbawalan ng Mama nya noon, siguro I end up with him. Magkasundo kasi kami sa lahat ng bagay and lagi nya ako pinagbibigyan sa gusto ko. I really like him that time. Wala man kaming label pero we both knew we had something.

Pero ganun siguro talaga ang life. We met people to make our life colorful. And also I realized when I started writing my story here in read.cash, na napakacolorful pala ng lovelife ko, char! Hahaha! May mga lalaki din kasi talaga na mahilig sa exotic beauty😂.
