Smoking is bad for you:

Smoking cigarettes, cigars, bidis or any other type of tobacco is as bad for your health, and evading them is the best you can do to live a happier and healthier life, and you may ask, why is smoking bad for you? or what are the effects of smoking on your body? Let's have a look.

1 - The Effect on the Respiratory System

We all love our lungs, don't we? And the bad effect of smoking related to your lungs is simple. When a person is inhaling tobacco, harmful substances enter the body, and can cause damage to your lungs, and in a case of a long-term smoker, we can be pretty sure that he's at a greater risk of having infections along with irreversible lung conditions like lung cancer, chronic bronchitis and other diseases.

2 - The Effect on the Central Nervous System

Inhaling nicotine can seriously mess with your central nervous system, when a person takes nicotine into his body, it reaches the brain and makes the person feel energetic for some time until the effect of this toxic oily liquid fades away, then the smoker starts to feel tired, irritated and depressed, and makes him want to smoke another cigarette or any other type of tobacco-filled drugs.

3 - The Effect on the skin, nails and hair

Smoking leads to many diseases, including but not limited to: fungal nail infection, hair loss, giving you grey hair and balding. It also puts the person in a higher risk of having skin cancer. If you are a smoker, take the subject into consideration and quit this bad habit, your health is on the line.

4 - The Effect on the Cardiovascular System

Allowing nicotine into your body will also result in the tightening of the blood vessels, restricting the flow of your blood which with time will result in peripheral arterial disease, which reduces the blood to the person's limbs. Another bad effect is the raising of the blood pressure, and the risk of having a stroke.

5 - The Effect on the Reproductive System

Smoking can surely mess with a person's reproductive system, be it a male or a female, making him less likely to have good sexual performance, for the male, and dissatisfaction for females, resulting is a decreased sexual desire.

6 - The Effect on the Digestive system

  • Pancreatic cancer is one of the effects caused by smoking, and alone is one of the reasons for a smoker to quit smoking, everyone's life matters.

  • Throat cancer, which a smoker definitely don't want.

  • Esophagus cancer, which also is the result of smoking tobacco and inhaling nicotine.

  • Mouth cancer, an unhealthy disease that smoking have to offer for us humans.

  • Type 2 Diabetes, which comes from the resistance of insulin caused by smoking.

Other types of cancer includes:

  • Bladder cancer, which can be cured with a treatment, but better avoided.

  • Liver cancer, which might leave you living only about five years from the time you are diagnosed.

  • Kidney cancer, which is a serious disease that can be cured if spotted in it's early stages, but again, better safe than sorry.

There are many more cancer types which I will not state, and any disease is bad for the humans, and avoiding them is best.

7 - The Effect on the brain

Smoking can eventually have a huge effect on the brain, resulting in the chance of having a stroke by up to four times, which in return can cause brain damage or eventually death.

8 - The Effect on the bones

Smokers tend to have weaker bones, precisely a reduction in bone density.

9 - The Effect on on the Immune System

Tobacco is one of the main causes to a weaker immune system, it reduces the immune system's function and causes an inflammation in the person's body.

Moreover, Covid have a higher chance taking on smokers rather than non-smokers, as their immune system is stronger.

10 - The Effect on the heart

Smoking can eventually cause diseases such as the coronary heart disease or even a heart attack. Smokers that smoke something as little as five or even less cigarettes per day can be at risk of developing cardiovascular disease. Smoking is really bad.

Conclusion, smoking is bad, be it in a smaller or larger quantities, and quitting is the way to go, If you care for your health and your life, as everyone's life matters.

Thank you for reading and have a good day everyone.
