SuperUMAns #41 - Humble Tractors donated to Save the Children and Water Wells for Africa
I organized a charitable event each year since 2020, involving cryptocurrencies and blockchain technology. This year I minted the Humble Tractors AI 4 Charity NFT collection and auctioned them to raise money for two charities on The Giving Block.
AI 4 Charity used Artificial Intelligence to mint 10 tractors. The limited edition NFTs were used to enhance the festive season, as 100% of the trading volume was donated.
The auctions were live for two weeks, and 8 out of 10 found new owners. The highest sell price was 0.1 ETH, paid by reinis.eth for Crypto Winter. Clayton bought Stardust and Humble Pyramids, for 0.03 ETH each. He added a considerable amount of wETH in the charity pot and his support will give many a reason to smile.
The bronze medal goes to neondaemon, the best educator in the SuperUMAns family. He bought To The Moon! for 35 USDC, and gave a considerable addition to the charity event.
The Humble Tractors AI 4 Charity collection achieved a total volume of 0.21 ETH, with 70% of the collection shared to unique owners. The invitation to get involved stays open as there are still 4 NFTs listed for sale. Any further sale will also be directed to charity, as this collection will do perpetual good and help underprivilege people.
The remaining NFTs are listed at the floor price, 0.0056 ETH, basically the price of a Starbucks Festive Latte. I am glad that my crypto friends got involved and helped me turn this event into a success story. It's amazing to see that some NFTs sold 418% and 1702% above the floor price! Water Wells for Africa and Save the Children were the two charities for this crypto aid. It was a bit of a hustle as I had to swap the wETH into USDC and then bridge it to Ethereum Mainnet to complete the donation. I used Across Protocol to move the USDC from Polygon to Layer-1, as the bridge is the fastest, cheaper and most secure way to move assets between blockchains.
Water Wells for Africa (WWFA) brings water to people in remote, hard-to-reach places in Africa since 1996. WWFA goes in villages where many other organizations do not go. The 110 USDC donation will contribute to drilling a hole and installing a pump, but also to provide the village with hygiene and sanitation training.
Each well serves 2,000 people and will supply a person with clean water approximately 20 years. It costs less then $4.00 to give a person clean water and help them live long and live better.
Save the Children wants to give all children the best chance for the future they deserve – a healthy start in life, to be protected from harm and the opportunity to learn. Every day, in times of crisis, they do whatever it takes to reach the most vulnerable children and their families.
