SuperUMAns #30 - End of Epoch Party and #UMAholiday
The SuperUMAns End of Epoch parties are known for being a mix of crypto knowledge and fun activities. The Q2 of 2022 party made no difference, as the SuperUMAns concluded another three months of promoting UMA tools with chess, poker, POAP lottery and summer vibes.
I had a celebration as well, I am a one year old SuperUMAn, joining the SU family exactly one year ago. Just 365 days later and I have a bigger baggage of crypto knowledge, and deeper roots into understanding the amazing tools that Outcome created.
I joined the Discord in 2021 and listened to an AMA about UMA with Hart Lambert! I came in there as a little shy chick, and grew up with the help of the community. I still remember Hart answer about the original vision for UMA regarding the speed of DeFi evolution. He said that financial products should be internet native and globally accessible, and that UMA tools can enforce financial contracts on blockchains.
The End of Epoch Party started with the Chess Tournament, dominated by Hassan! I am glad we have our own Gary Kasparov in the SU family, and I think that the 1st edition of the Chess
showdown was amazing. Hassan won all his games, linking 9 wins in less than 45 minutes. I finished 6th, with only two wins from 9 games.
I was in charge of the Poker Tournament and I started to like it! We had 10 participants and I finished 2nd. Congratulations to @gmsteele and TheRealTuna for their performance and a big thank you to all the participants. This was the final battle and the hand that eliminated TheRealTuna. Went all-in with a pair of 4s and a K after the turn, and end up winning a big pot with a full-house. It was a tactical battle between me and gmsteele, which made me accept that he is a better (luckier) player.
There were prizes to be shared for the top three players, a good amount of USDC. However, the real winner is gmsteele for receiving a Humble Tractor as a bonus! I said I will share one of my NFTs to the winner of the Poker Tournament and I am a man of honor! He is now one of the 14 owners of the coolest tractor in the Metaverse!
