Battle Mage Secrets Challenge - Stick And Stones May Brake Your Bones! The classic weekly battle challenge retired to make way for the Battle Mage Secrets series, making it more entertaining. This new set-up adds a focus on dynamic strategies, as players will be able to choose from a greater selection of more diverse units to bring into battle. Let's enjoy the **Broken Arrows** ruleset, where the ranged monsters can't be used! No more Pelacor Arbalest to double strike my tank, and no more silly snipers behind the hulking beasts with Taunt. May the odds be ever in my favor!
With the ranged monsters out of the battle plan, I had to think about a tactic that will give me an early advantage. There will be over-powered melee beasts and tricky casters that will fire deadly spells, so I must counter both of them. The team plan was to create synergy around reducing both magic and melee damage, choosing damage reduction monsters and cards with special abilities. ***Sticks and stones*** **will** ***break my bones*****, but words will never harm me!** The team was planned to stop over-powered melee monsters under Tarsa lead, or reduce/ignore a magic damage amplification from Obsidian. However, with the Broken Arrow battle-rule backed by Silenced Summoners, I changed the plan. Kelya Frendul: (+1 Speed and +1 Armor) Costal Sentry: Melee with Double Strike Flying Squid: Melee with Reach Demented Sharl: Melee with Inspire Deeplurker: Melee with Opportunity Creeping Ooze: Support with Slow Nerissa Tridown: Caster
I changed the came mechanics due to the Silenced Summoners battle-rule, as Tarsa and Obsidian will not boost the team. Choose Kelya Frendul for the level three status and a wider selection from the Water Splinter. Power Overwhelming, with the Costal Sentry, Flying Squid and Deeplurker boosted by the Demented Shark! Sticks and stones will break your bones, but words will never hurt you! However, my team was full aquatic rage, hitting the opponents with the power of an unleashed tsunami. One round gone and the already taken two opponents down!
The opponent team tried to compensate the lack of ranged monsters with casters and a tank that will reduce damage, but my attack power was high enough to boss the battleground. The Costal Sentry double-strike was devastating, dealing killing blow after killing blow. All lead to a quick battle, sorted at the start of round three.
