The 2021 edition of Copa America will take place in Brazil between 13th of June and 10th of July. Brasil is the title holder and the host of the competition, starting with the 1st change to win the trophy again.
Four cities will host the matches: Brasilia, Goiana, Cuiaba and Rio de Janeiro. The opening match will be on the 13th of June at 6 PM between Brazil and Venezuela, and the tournament will end up with the final on Maracana.
The group stage divided all 10 CONMEBOL countries into geographical groups. Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru and Venezuela will play in the North Zone while Argentina, Bolivia, Chile, Paraguay and Uruguay will play in the South Zone.
If Brazil and Argentina will win their group, they can meet only in the final. I personally believe this is the expected outcome and I am looking forward to see this classic derby in the final. If I have to chose one of the underdogs that may have a chance to challenge Brazil and Argentina, I will choose Uruguay.
The mascot of the 2021 Copa America is Pibe, a conjunction of all the dogs that live in South America. The dog is sociable, fun and very mischievous, losing his head when he sees a football.
The 2021 edition of Copa America may be the last chance for Lionel Messi to lead his team towards international glory! My choice for the leading goal scorer is Luis Suarez, because the player is a natural killer and can score in rough conditions.
Believe it or not but the most successful team is Uruguay with 15 trophies, followed by Argentina with 14. Brazil is 3rd in the top, with 9 Copa America trophies. The next countries are far away, Paraguay, Peru and Chile winning the competition twice!
Brazil has a huge advantage by being the host country and looks the most solid team. All eyes on Neymar!
