I wanted to continue the topic I shared earlier.

I also support Organic life, but of course, like everyone else, I was complaining about the pocket-friendly prices. But as a result of my research, I realized that it was actually the value it deserved.

Today, those who want to eat healthy, regardless of their costs, prefer organic foods, which is extremely important in terms of certain nutrients. Especially with important components; Consuming organic types of tomatoes, olives, honey and similar products will help to get many vital components.

Yes, purchasing power and economic reasons make us think twice about our wallet and we complain about the prices of organic foods. But in fact, the prices of organic foods are not that expensive. Let's look at the reasons together.

The journey of organic agriculture and organic food begins with its seeds and land areas. Even seeds are used as seeds that adapt to the ecological balance and their production is quite expensive. Everything from the feeds used in feeding the animals to the breeding areas respects the ecological balance. Even the destruction of the water resources used is tried to be prevented, and appropriate irrigation systems are used. The input of genetically modified organisms is not accepted. We can say that this is the first and main effect on the prices of organic foods.

In addition, while producing these foods, chemical drugs etc. manpower is used instead. Instead of lower cost things like chemical regulators, plant growth drugs, hormones, natural warriors (insects, bees, etc.) are used alongside human power. These cause much higher costs.

Instead of the abundance of food, it is tried to obtain quality food. Therefore, little and limited amount of food is obtained. This also affects prices.

Demand is low, market share is low. Of course, the purchasing power of the consumer also comes into play here. But the greater the demand, the lower the price of food will fall in the same direction. The low demand also increases the cost of logistics activities such as packaging and distribution. Therefore, the prices of organic foods are much higher than the prices of other foods.

There are also certification and control dimensions of the job. Fees are also paid for these. In addition, the producer, within the framework of laws and rules, has to turn his soil into a form suitable for the ecological system. This causes yield loss. Because first foods are not sold because they are transition products. The loss rate is serious. Compared to the yield obtained in conventional agriculture, it can experience yield loss between 3-10 years. This situation of the producer is another factor that increases the prices.

In addition, they have a short shelf life as there are no preservatives in foods. They break as expected. The manufacturer, who cannot sell and whose product remains in his hands, has to let his products deteriorate. When the deterioration of the products obtained is added to the production cost, the prices increase.

Considering these situations, we can conclude that the prices of these completely nature-friendly products, which are obtained with labor, are actually not very expensive.

Let's assume that the price of a regular yogurt we buy is 1 unit, while the price of organic yogurt can be 12 units, that is exactly 3 times. But we have plenty of reasons to try to buy less, consume more, and add more organic foods to our basket.

For one thing, there are completely healthy organisms in those yoghurts, cheeses and milk. As with other products, they do not go through long industrial processes and lose their nutritional value. Vegetables and fruits carry all the beauty and flavor of the soil. All the vitamins and minerals our body needs are hidden in them.

Our body balance depends on the balance of the soil. The root cause of many diseases we experience today depends on what we eat and drink. When we eat organically, we do not take the chemicals used in the production of fruits and vegetables. Moreover, we support the work behind it. Supporting these producers also means protecting nature.

So, let's turn to organic foods as much as you can. We know, we have financial obstacles. But the more nature-friendly we are, the more producers we support, the lower the costs and the more widespread organic agriculture will be. Everything is in our hands.
