Soybean cultivation

Thousands of people in Bangladesh cannot eat twice a day. Ordinary people are unable to provide food even after spending all their income. Nutritious food is like a dream for them. When they can eat fish, meat, eggs, milk, a smile appears on their face. As a result, the lion's share of the country's population is malnourished. This information is even more frightening in the case of children.

According to nutritionists, lack of meat, calories, nutrients and minerals causes us to suffer from various diseases. For example, in physical structure, in intelligence, in depletion, in energy storage. Above all, nutritious food is essential for human survival. At present the market price of non-vegetarian food is much higher. Which is beyond the reach of poor people. Again, the source of animal meat is more expensive than fish, meat, eggs, milk meat. At one time the price of pulses was low. Poor people ate pulses. This is why pulses were called the meat of the poor. But now the poor are being deprived of eating pulses due to high prices of pulses. As a result, malnutrition is appearing among them. They are suffering from various diseases. We can meet our nutritional deficiencies by cultivating soybeans. Soybean is a nutritious crop rich in meat and oil. Soybeans contain more protein than any other food grain. It is twice as nutritious as other pulses and is half the price of the most nutritious pulses in the market. Being rich in oil, soybean is able to meet the calorie deficit. The climate and environment of Bangladesh is suitable for soybean cultivation. Fried soybean pulses and khichuri are very nutritious, tasty and delicious.

The amount of meat in soybean pulses is much higher than the pulses commonly available in the market. Eating soybeans with rice or bread provides the same amount of nutrients as animal meat. There is no shortage of carbs, oils / fats, sugars, vitamins, minerals. Soybean can be cultivated at low cost. Again, the market price is low. So we can add soybean meal to meet our nutritional deficiencies.

Most people think that only oil is produced from soybeans. But no, just as oil is produced from soybeans, so are other things produced. Soybean to Parota, Spicy Soy Almond or Nut, Soy Onion, Singara, Soybean Ghugani, Soybean Hotpot, Soy Flour, Soy Baby Food, Soy Pulses, Soy Talk Pulses, Soy Pudding, Soy Khichuri, Soy Patra, Soy Mash, Soy Pumpkin curry, soybean mixed potato curry, soybean mixed vegetables, soy milk, soy curd, soy steamed cake etc.

Soybean cultivation and varieties

Soybean can be cultivated in all types of soils in Bangladesh. However, soybean cultivation is best in silty, loamy soils. Soybean cultivation can be done in summer, monsoon and winter. For example, Bangladesh Four (G-2): 15 November to 15 December, Sohag: 15 December to 30 January and Sohag: 15 June to 30 August.

Harvest time and seeds

It takes 100 to 115 days from seed sowing to harvesting. It takes 12 to 16 kg seeds per acre for cultivation.

Fertilizer application

Urea 200 g per cent. TSP 500 g per cent. MP 250 g per cent. Gypsum at 450 grams per cent.

Attendance

The land should be kept free from weeds at all times. Irrigation should be given when the land is dry in the sun and constant contact should be maintained with the local Deputy Assistant Agriculture Officer for control of insects and spiders.

Soybean is usually widely grown during the Rabi season. At this time the yield is 20/25 mana per acre. At other times the yield is 15/16 maunds.

We can cultivate soybeans to get more nutrition at lower prices. We can meet the nutritional needs of our country a lot.
