To you my swan,
How come there are only stories of the ugly duckling
when you sit here and
radiate beauty that breaks boundaries?
How come there are songs and performances
about black swans alone
when even the Nightingale
competes with your voice.
The healing waters of Damascus
even wishes it held your healing power.
Let me, my love,
tell the world of your magic;
your smile that mends,
your voice that heals
and your beauty that hypnotizes.
I will preach your gospel
with wholeheartedness that
they may see you and be awed,
get lost in your beauty and charisma
while your voice and songs
take them on a tour around their fantasy.
My swan,
Your fame shall soar higher
than black swans and ugly ducklings...
This is a call for us to look inward and showcase our beauty. So many people are scared to launch out. Most people would rather live in self pity and rue what could have been. When a defining moment comes, define the moment or else the moment will define you. Stop asking 'What if it doesn't work out' and start thinking, 'What if it does?'. Life is to be lived.
Stop spending your life in regrets of what could have been when you can take a step right now. Don't be a secondary character in your life's story. If anything would change, it has to start with you. The ugly duckling turned out so beautiful and could have given up and not grow. Allowing life take its course while also shutting out those negativity would go a long way. A lot of people are angry for reasons best known to them. Their reality shouldn't be your own worries. Guard your heart and live.

The ugly duckling is actually the swan in the story. In this poem, it seems to tell different.
