Mental Health Issues.

I am not an expert when it comes to this field but I would talk about the human aspect of things and what is expected of us as humans. The world is not how it used to be. We have suffering almost at every corner vested deliberately on others by people who take pride in seeing others suffer because that's the only way to boost their ego. Without the suffering of others, they don't feel any sense of worth, how shameful.

For us to know the world is constantly changing, then you can see the event happening in Afghanistan as an example. Everyone wants to stay relevant and cares not about what others think. How do you not care about how women live? Why do you have to restrict women to domestic duties when they are capable of so much more? Are we not living in a free world that gives rights to live and equality to all men? Is a race or religion or even a gender more superior than the other? These are the questions that need urgent answers and sadly, we all know what the answer is but most people ignore it because it makes them irrelevant if everyone stays equal.

The world is changing and the news you hear and see every now and there would always depress you. A lot of people have struggles growing up. Trust me, the adage that says the rich also cry is not far from the truth. Sometimes, wealth doesn't shade you away from some torture in this life. You might be cute but that doesn't mean you will be funny. You might be rich and that doesn't necessarily mean you will be liked. Just because you took a vow doesn't necessarily mean you know how to love nor because you speak Latin coupled with 10 other languages doesn't mean you know how to speak. Fame on its own doesn't confer on you the right to relevance. A lot of people are suffering but they are masking it under the things that others desire the most which make it unsuspecting to others.

Why would someone so rich, no indebted, has a wife and children desire to end his life just like that? Why would someone so full of life just end up retreating and choose to suffer in silence? Everything is not as it seems and we are not taking note. We are not being sensitive enough because we are too focused on life's hustle. I am not against life's hustle and trying the best for your family but we are gradually losing our human side as the days go by and it is easy to wrap it under disguise by saying we have been busy.

No amount of money or hustle should make us lose touch with reality or our human side. A lot of people are suffering regardless of their status, state or influence. You can see a perfectly abled person but a lot is going on in his head. A lot of battles and wars are going on that would make him do things that might defy logic but it takes sensitivity to observe.

People who suffer from mental health issues always come off as strong, bubbly and even exciting but most of the time it's a mask but when you are close to them, at some point, they give some things away that should call for attention but the thing is, when they try to speak up once and they got shut down, they would never try it again. They would rather suffer in silence since they cannot trust those around them. They generalize from the experience they have with one person. That one person is for them to 'test' and sees who they can open up to.

This is just a call for us as humans to be sensitive. This is for us to know that there is more to life than trying to make ends meet. That which you desire might even come from that person you helped. It doesn't have to be about running after things while neglecting those who truly need our help. Many people are suffering, many people are dying and I am not saying we are responsible for it, far from it.

A lot of factors are responsible even government institutions but then, at least whatever we can do to show concern and help to others, let's do it because it's easier to get caught up in the rat race and forget those closest to us that require our urgent attention. We might be the only reason why they would see value again in life to go on living. It's pointless to cry after they are gone when we could have at least try. It's better to have tried than to be sorry later on. The worst thing that could happen to anyone is 'Had I known'.

Let's learn never to shame those who are going through one health issue or the other. The victimization is real especially for those going through mental health challenges. They didn't choose that path. I am sure if they got the help they need they would also appreciate it. We deal with issues differently and we should be kind to one another. It's just one life and we are all we've got.

Thank you for your time.

There's just so much going on right now it's overwhelming. If we let these things get to us, we will surely break down. There are things that we can't control. We can only pray.

It is a must that we should start treating others kindly for we don't know what they are going through.

This is so true. A lot of things can break us down and we need to accept the things we can't control. Kindness can surely go a long way.

I'm so glad people started focussing more on mental health issues these days. A couple of brilliant people in India have taken their lives for depression last year and they got massive follow ups on MH issue... we still have a long road to normalize psycological issues. Great post

I feel so bad for their loves ones. It's a terrible situation to be in and it's a long road but with proper attention, I am sure they can start getting help rather than victimization.

Taking care of our mental health is always and always important. These days are critical. So many overwhelmed people and a lot are taking it all out on others because it just boils up inside of themselves. People are scared and just confused. Most want to do the right thing but many aren't even sure what that is anymore. It's important to know you're not alone.

This is brilliant. Thank you so much for this. No doubt, most people don't even need money they just need a shoulder to lean on. They want to be sure they are not alone. Nothing is as it seems and that's why kindness can be a huge help.

How long will my life last? What diseases am I exposed to? I don't know these things, but I want to offend as few people as possible in my life, I try not to offend anyone if possible. It is a value in women and they need to have a say in every aspect of life.

Women definitely need to have a say on how their life is going and shouldn't be determined by others.

It is even more challenging nowadays to notice who is having mental health issues because most of us just see others at face value. We just have to be sensitive and more kind even though we may never get to fathom what other people are going through.

Absolutely, my friend. Face value is indeed a false value. We can be seated next to a broken person and we wouldn't know. It takes being sensitive and watching out for the pattern.

That indeed is true. I am guilty at times because when I see people happy, I just believe they are until I notice something's off after spending a little more time with them.

It shows you are sensitive. Those going through hard times will always display that off attitude and we just have to be caring enough to notice.

Mental health is very indeed a serious one. Others may took it for granted but I do hope that it will be part on Educational programs moving forward. Thank you by the way for this article. It is really an eye opener 🙂

I really hope so too. Many people need to be aware of what's happening and how they can show help or support to those concerned.

Indeed. Most especially at my work. I don't know, it is really stressful and it will drained us physically and mentally. Sometimes, I may inted to overthink because of it but gladly, this platform really helps me most especially expressing my thoughts and feelings through writing and of course by reading articles too.

This article reminds me of the 2020 Corona virus period where I was basically losing my mind after staying indoors for 2 months straight. I developed depression at some point and had to go gir medical chevk up cos my mental health was diminishing.

Wow. I am glad you sought for help and got better. It has a way of messing up the mind, really.

I'm glad to be fine again. If the lock down comes back, I'd lose my mind never to regain it again.

Hahaha, no one prays for another lockdown. I enjoyed it though because I am naturally an indoor person but I know how challenging it was for others so I don't wish for it again.

There is a saying that I love and I believe it is perfect for this article, "Kindness is free to give but priceless to receive."

I think that saying must be done by all people because we never know we might be that person who can change other lives.

Exactly...we might be the one to change that life for the better. Thanks for this.

Your article reminds me of a survey that says the world will experience more suicide than ever from now because millions of people are suffering in silence.

Our women shouldn't be treated as property or an asset that must be hidden, I understand that deserve to be protected which doesn't include locking them indoor. I saw a pic of the Afghanistan women in trousers looking really beautiful but now they are been treated as slaves and that hurts.

God bless you, my brother. That's so true. I saw a picture in 197+ of three women looking so good without covering up and when they are covered up. They deserved freedom and being pushed to become the best they could be. A lot of creative minds would be locked up as a result of this. Shameful.

Mental health issue is becoming more and more known. I wish that the people would end certain stigma around it though
