Grateful For Everything.
There is no denying that we have things to be grateful for. The year went by so fast but not without things to be thankful for. Gratitude is an appreciation for what was done in the past and then an application for the things that would be done next. We need to cultivate that attitude of gratitude. Someone said an attitude of gratitude would turn your life into beatitudes.
We often wait for the big things before we are grateful. Often we tend to also focus on what wasn’t working rather than the ones that worked. We also sometimes focus on the closed door, thereby ignoring the door that has been opened for us, right beside us...which we didn't see due to clouded emotions. Most of the time, when someone is hurting from a heartbreak; he or she closes his or her heart and forgets those who have been there for him or her all along. Never allow your pains and hurts to turn you to be ungrateful.
I read a story that touched my heart many years ago. I will try to summarize it because I don’t want to quote it word for word. It was a story of a dog. The dog came into a butcher’s place and dropped the purse in his mouth while staring at the meat. The butcher smiled and jokingly asked if the dog wants some meat, and the dog barked. He asked the dog if it was half a pound or a pound, that moment the dog barked again. The butcher asked which one he preferred; Liver, Bacon, or Steak and immediately he barked again.
The butcher noticed the purse, checked, found the money and picked the money for what the dog was given. He was a little curious to see where the dog would go and he followed the dog. The dog entered an apartment and started scratching the door. The owner opened the door and started shouting at the dog. The butcher interrupted and told the owner, "This is one of the most intelligent dogs I have ever seen" the owner retorted, "Which dog? I always tell him never to forget his key! And this is the third time this week he has forgotten his key"
The owner of the dog focused on what wasn’t working or what the dog wasn’t doing right, forgetting the wonderful things the dog is doing right. It's very rare to find a dog that would take your errands that way and yet, the owner demanded more than what a dog was meant to do. You need to have a positive approach to things, only then can you truly be grateful for the things that you have received which others would gladly give anything to have.
Another story that got to me was about a woman that always shows up in an old brick Church, asking and begging for alms in her ragged and shabby clothes. She was always there and there was this lady that always gives something to her. She was there for around a year or thereabout.
This lady that always gives alms to her noticed she wasn’t there any longer and she kept wondering what happened to the lady. After some time, she reappeared in the same spot, wearing her ragged and shabby clothes. As this lady was about to give her the usual, the woman told her to stop and she said, ”Thank you for helping me all those days and you won’t be seeing me again because I have a job now”. She then reached into her bag and handed this lady something she has wrapped in a package. She came back to that same spot, in her familiar outfit, not to receive anything but to give doughnuts to the people she was able to recognize, who has been giving her money over time, as a show of gratitude. She was thankful for all those times and it is important we should never forget too.
We need to appreciate the little things because those little things amount to greater things. Are you also familiar with the young boy who gave newspapers to Bill Gates when he was poor? The newspaper looked so little but it was a big deal to him. The boy gave his lunch money to Bill Gates which was equivalent to the free newspaper he gave to Bill Gates. When people reach out to us, we should never see it as an entitlement or as something we have earned, we should always learn to show gratitude...since we don't know how much it cost them to do what they did.
Be grateful for the roof over your head. Be grateful for your family. Be grateful for friends. Be grateful for your health; because only when your health is challenged can you truly understand what having a good one means. Be thankful for the job you have; you have no idea how many are without one and they would readily give anything just to have the one you are ungrateful for. Be grateful for the opportunity to earn even on Read Cash... A lot of people post for free on Facebook.
Look around you, there is always something to be thankful for. When you are thankful, you receive more. Make it your habit. Don’t wait for special occasions to be thankful, rather make it a daily habit to be thankful for everything you receive or everything that comes your way. Let gratitude be an attitude you will always adopt which must become a culture to you.
Thank you for your time.

The breathe we have and the day are the things we shall be grateful for, appreciate our senses, eyes to see, smell, touch, hear and enjoy it each moment, before we go to the other side.
