Fear of God.
What is the Spirit of the fear of the Lord? It is the spirit of holiness and the spirit of burning. When it's upon you,you detest sin...you detest to displease God. It burns sin and flesh off to make you relevant for the use of God. Sin is a destroyer of life and killer of destinies. When someone starts messing with sin, they lose the power of foresight. Today, we have a lot of blind Christians moving around...that they are unable to make the right choices. Sin blinds.
A lot of people hide under youthful exuberance...there is no special heaven for youths, it's the same standard. God's Word stands true and sure. The key to distinction is your commitment to Christ. A lot of people give excuses for their actions but the Bible doesn't change. We try to make sense out of the things we do by being selective to the things that suits us in the Bible.
Why do we need the spirit of the fear of the Lord?
It will keep you from sin:
When you fear God, you won't want to move near anything that dishonours Him. Joseph knew this and he fled from the appearance of sin. Before we do anything, we need to think of how it looks in the eyes of God and check with our spirit too because the Spirit of God stays resident within us. We should always ask ourselves too, "In this situation, what would Jesus do?"
It engenders longevity:
The fear of the Lord adds length to your years. Hezekiah reminded God of all the good he had done and he got length of days. God saw his heart, his commitment and the fear of God within him and he got years added to his years. It might not even be about the length of years but about the influence and relevance you leave behind that goes beyond your life after you are gone.
It provokes God's blessings.
The blessings of the Lord makes rich and adds no sorrow. Only the things we crave for gives us sorrow, distraction and becomes a burden. Once we follow the principles of God's Word, the things we ought to pray for would be an addition. Having the fear of God makes it possible for us to get things without having to necessarily pray for them.
It produces confidence:
God didn't give power to the devil but the devil has strategies. When we have the fear of God, we would be confident to approach the throne of God with confidence. The righteous is as bold as the Lion. Stop living in fear. The God of possibilities lives on your inside. Fear is first a spirit before it becomes a psychological effect. We have been given power to overcome and take charge of things. When you walk in righteous you are bold.
It is the access way to the wisdom of God:
The fear of God is true wisdom and to forsake evil is understating. You cannot function in true wisdom of God without having the fear of God. You see things the way God sees them and know the right thing to do. The wisdom of God guides the actions of God. When we have the fear of God, we have the wisdom of God to do the right thing which guides it actions to act right.

You have spoken really well, I totally agree with you on the wisdom you've given out on this blog. So many times we always look for ways to justify our wrongs and you know, the worst part is that some try to drag the Bible into their sins which just shows how ignorant they are of the Power of God.
Sometimes we might get use to different teachings of men and we feel that since it's practiced by many then God will accept it but that's not true at all, just like you said, the words of God never changes no matter what. God has given men the wisdom and inspiration to write down his words for us to learn on a daily basis and if we fail to do that, we will end up being tossed by every wind of doctrine.
