Nostalgic Christmas
*When I was a little boy* *Christmas had but one meaning* *A time for fun and frolic* *Just as it was in the beginning* New clothes and toys abound As Canaan overflowed with milk and honey The aura of joy so overwhelming Even if there was little money **The sounds of Bony M's classic** **Pervaded one with an evoking nostalgia** **Even though I wasn't born in the 70's** **It worked better than anaesthesia** The fun of eating the chicken's head Made it more enticing The presence of rice and stew very plenty Made it more inviting **A communal trip to the village** **Was to us a sacred tradition** **With cousins, uncles and relatives in convoy** **We made our humble expedition** **We arrive to a joyful raucous welcome** **Which spoke volumes of the joy in their hearts** **An evidence of "distance makes the heart grow fonder "** **A saying that depicts the essence of arts** *Tales by moonlight at night* *Had become more live than a TV programme* *As we surrounded Aribobo, the storyteller* *To hear the tortoise cut meat from the cow's bombom* **How I long to go back to that Christmas** **To have that heart so naive and free** **Climbing the hills of Iyiakwu stream** **Will forever be a nostalgic spree.** ***#ChristmasIsSweet*** ***#AmComingHome*** ***#MichaeloLovesChristmas*** Lead image Source https://cdn.pixabay.com/photo/2017/02/05/05/16/pretty-girl-2039176_1280.jpg
