Date: 5th January 2022
Hello everyone! It is a beautiful new day, and I hope everyone is having a great time this new year and staying hydrated. The past few days have been a little bit nice, especially with schools resuming and work resuming again.
We are finally back to how things were before the holiday season, and I can't say I don't miss all the festivities, but there is time for everything, and it is time to work for now.
If you are willing to achieve your new year goals, you should start working now, because we are already on the 5th day of the year, and you might be thinking you still have time to do achieve them, but soon we will be in Christmas again.
Please don't waste the whole year, instead utilize it effectively!
I have learned in my life that no matter how strong, smart, or fast you are, there will always be a time you need someone's help.
No one in this world can do everything alone, and even if you can do it alone, is there any benefit from doing something all by yourself? You only end up with high-stress levels and pressure.
I once had an uncle who was a very hardworking man, and he was a great role model for me because he was always doing his best to make sure he achieved his dreams and fed his family.
Young me thought life was meant to be like that, and seeing him from the outside, he felt like he had the best life in the world.
Another lesson I learned from his life was, it doesn't matter how happy a person looks on the outside; they may be already dead inside, but you won't know this because they would never tell you.
I lived with my uncle for a short time, and I observed his work schedule, and it was hectic.
He worked all day, every day, and never even took breaks to rest his body, and even though he could pay assistants to help him, he didn't want to because he felt like they would only slow him down.
All the work and stress took a toll on his body, and he ended up having a stroke and couldn't even get off his bed anymore.
He became a shadow of his former self because now he can't even work as he used to and still ended up hiring the assistants to help him.
Now I ask myself, Why couldn't he have hired the assistants to help him in the first place?
I am using my uncle's story to show you the mistakes some people make in the world we live in, and I am sure most of us are also guilty of wanting to do everything alone.
You know you can ask others for help, right? You shouldn't feel inadequate or inferior when you ask others for help because you can't do everything by yourself; you would need other people's help one day.
Most times, our pride makes us think we can do everything by ourselves, and sometimes we think we can do everything better than others, but the truth is you are not an island, neither are you perfect.
Doing things by yourself may boost your ego, but sometimes it is better to ask someone for help.
Some people are so full of themselves that even when they can't do something, they still refuse to ask others for help because it would hurt their ego.
Imagine buying a new Tv, but you don't know how to set it up, and instead of calling a professional to help you, you do it yourself, and the Tv ends up splitting in half. What exactly would you gain from that?
There is a reason we are not alone on this planet: to help each other out when we need it.
Sometimes it might be scary to ask others for help because we think we would be bothering them, but don't be scared to ask people for help; you would be surprised by the number of opportunities you have missed because you failed to do so.
Please don't be too proud or scared to ask others for help; go to them and tell them what you are passing through or what you need; I am sure some people will help you when you need it.
