My Life At The Age Of 13

21 43

I read the article of ate @JRamona20 about "Life at 15", it gave me an idea to share what I've been through when I reach 13 yearsold. This personal life of mine the reason why I choose to live alone at my early age, at first it was hard but it gave me reason to go on and to push my life harder.

I'm still 10 yearsold when my family started the business again called buko juice. We delivering to all school here and also to the market, each styrofoam box have 32 cups inside which is 2layers of buko juice already. My mother always waking me up at 5am before to help them sealing the cup of buko juice.

When I have no class, every saturday and sunday I am at the market selling buko juice also. Each cup cost 10php or .2$ and I gain 2php percup. They don't take my money and I'll always putting them inside of my piggy bank.

When I'm on my 13 yearsold, I broke my 3 piggy bank and I earned like 25k already. It's call coins, and during that time I plan to moved out. I told them that I want to have my own boarding house so that I learn to be more Independent. At first, they hesitate but later on they allowed me since I really want to be independent at the very young age.

It's not easy, like I was still in g7 when I look for a part time. I was really negative because all I was thinking that no one will accept me since I was still a child. I try to find a part time at the college karinderya or fastfoods and one fastfood owner there allowed me to work at them during my lunch time period and during my afterclass everything afternoon.

And I find some boarding house cost 3k permonth. It was a solo room, and I'm happy for that since no one can disturb me.

Each day, I woke up at 4am to be ready. I don't eat breakfast since I don't know how to cook. When I'm on the fastfood stall already, they were giving me free bfast where I'm so lucky because it was free. They were explaning to me what will I do every lunch time and all I do is to answer them a "Yes".

It's not hard for me since making buko juice was more difficult than giving orders and putting the plates back to the dishwasher.

My class was starting like 7:30 during my junior high so it's okay for me since I'm able to do my part time first. Every afternoon, my classes end up at 4:30pm and I always go straight where I my part time is. And they were ended up like 6pm in the evening.

Since I'm not a full-time, they were giving me 100-150per day and also they were giving me free foods to eat every evening where I was lucky too. They are food people.

At the age of 14,

When summer break hits, I look for another job and I found one at the hardware store. But I only taking calls from the customer and listing them down also preparing it so that it can be delivered easily.

They have a 3 extension hardware shop and sometimes their other shops were looking for me so that I can help them since they said I am good dealing with a customers. It was kinda hard since when I go back from the main store there's a call again from the another store that they were looking to me again and I need to need to go there again. But the shop owner love me too much, I'm working at them also when the classes resume.

The hardware owner told me that I can work from them like 4-6hours every saturday and sunday. So that I can have more time to rest. I was so thankful since they care for me too much.

When they have an event, or any celebration. The owner was always inviting me, to be honest I don't know how to payback to their goodness because there were so good and really friendly at the same time. They were giving me 150-200 for my part time there. That's already enough for me since there were giving me things that I don't asked for. And they said, it just a help for me.

---

My life were repeatedly the same for almost years, sometimes my payment for my by was delayed because I was giving some of my money to my family if they asked for it. I won't mind because It was a help already.

When the covid starts, I have no choice but to go back here. During lockdown, it's hard for me to find something that I can work on since fast foods are not open yet and I'm having a problem finding some stable work.

And when I was scrolling through the facebook, I saw Laurencuu's post abt readcash. And that's where I start writing here.

I only earned 8k permonth and my bh was also 3k, so the 5k left on me is always go into electricity, water and other things that I need to pay.

And since I go back to this house, everything is not the same already. My mother keep asking me about money and whenever I can't give some, she were scolding me and they become so toxic. I just said to myself that maybe it's better if I didn't go back here.

Author's Note:

Living alone is not quite easy, since I have many things to do and many things to finish, I always forgot that I need to eat and I need to rest. My full 7 days or whole week were always at my part time, and assignment, house hold and etc. Actually it was so tiring, and since I got operated, my body were not same as before. I hope I can make an adjustment easily just like before.

Wow. That is a unique, promising and inspiring childhood of yours. I hope a lot of your readers will emulate you. For your mother, she seemed to be used to getting money from you that it is different fo her when you have nothing for her. That should not be the case. Our food, shelter and education should be our parent's responsibility and if we can work and provide for them, it would be up when to give and when not to give.

At an early age, you are already independent and hardworking, and I admire you for that. Grabe, that's rare for a young person to have that kind of mindset.

I admire you sis, kase sa age na yan isa akong sakitin na bata na hindi makapaglaro sa labas at lagi nakakulong sa bahay. That age also na akala ko mamamatay na ako...😭 Lucky that I survived...

ganun talaga pagdating sa financial, hindi tayo pwede tumanggi kasi lalabas tayong masama sa kanila pag wala tayong naibigay.. swerte na lang talaga yung may supportive at understanding na parents.. well, in my case unerstanding naman sila but there are times I can feel the pressure kasi nagiging obliged ka na magbigay kahit hindi directly sinasabi, may mga acts na parang makokonsensya ka kasi wala kang naiabot sa kanila.. ok lang naman yan, parents are parents no matter what. Gawin lang natin ang kaya at wag pilitin ang sarili to please them. Keep up your kindness at pagiging hardworking..

Ilang taon kana ngayon?
