It was on a cloudy afternoon and the whole residence was lonely except for the presence of Larry. He had been sitting right there, on the stairs, thinking of his life, his lots of mysteries recently. First, he lost his job, the only thing that he was using to cater for himself and his late mother. As if that one was not enough, his mother died two weeks after his loss of his job. Then, his landlord had just brought a quit notice to him and he had only three weeks to vacate that apartment.
Now, Larry was sitting on that stair, with a suicide note beside him and a long rope in his left hand. He was determined to do it. He had heard and seen people take their lives and he never knew that one day, he would be taking his life too. He often shrugged at the thought of suicide, but now, here he was very much determined to take his life.
He was tired of life and had determined to take his. He got up from the stair, brought a stool and climbed on it to tie the rope on the roof frame. Just as he finished tying the rope and was putting his head on the noose, Salomi appeared. She quickly understood what he was about to do and ran up to him and dismantled him from the stool and pulled him down, screaming. Salomi had been Larry's girl friend for three years then. Salomi knew his predicament and she also read his suicide note. Then and just the, Salomi decided to take a radical decision to assist Larry and prevent him from attempting suicide in future.
Salomi assured him that she would help him back to his feet again and she went and stole his father's money (something she had never done before) and gave to Larry. It was a huge amount of money that could set up a big business for Larry. She told Larry that she stole the money from her daddy and that Larry should use it judiciously. At that instance, became more lively and quickly set off to establishing his business. The business flourished and Larry became a multi millionaire.
When he decided to marry, Larry started thinking otherwise concerning Salomi. He reasoned that if he married Salomi, she would pass down the stealing character to his children, their children. So, Larry went to Salomi and told her that she should bear with him that he couldn't marry her simply because she had a stealing record in her.
Salomi wept. Salomi cried. Salomi even attempted suicide but was rescued by a young man who was just passing by. She had lost everything. Simply because of that money she stole from her dad, her dad suffered a cardiac arrest and died few months after that. She realized that her world had just turned upside down just because of the crime she committed to save a life.
