“Why Teenagers Like Me Want to Make Their Own Money”

Being a teenager isn’t always easy — especially when you’re trying to figure out who you are and what your future will look like. I’m a high school student, and to be honest, school can be really hard for me. Sometimes I feel down or even depressed. I worry about my grades, and I feel like if I’m not doing well in school, people think I’ll fail in life. Many parents still believe that good grades are everything. If their child doesn’t do well academically, they get scared — like our whole future is in danger. But not everyone is good at schoolwork, and that’s okay. That doesn’t mean we can’t do anything in life. We all have our own creative talents and strengths, and those should be supported too — especially by our parents. That’s one of the reasons I want to start making my own money as a teenager. I want to prove that I can do something beyond just grades. That I can learn skills, be creative, and create my own path — even as a beginner. I don’t want to depend on my parents for every little thing anymore. I want to be able to say, “I earned this myself.” I want to feel independent. Earning money isn’t just about buying things. It’s about growing up, taking responsibility, and learning how the real world works. I believe that starting young will help me in the future — not just with money, but with confidence, knowledge, and experience. I understand I’m still learning, and I won’t always get things perfect — but that won’t stop me. I want to start now. I believe I can create my own success — not just with grades, but with action and heart. So if you're a teenager like me, just remember: it's okay to start small.
