Entry #5

Today is Saturday and it is not the usual start of the weekend for me. Summer vacation just started and I will be off from Saturday duty until the end of July. That means I can finally go home and rest. Finally! I will be back only when classes start in August.

Last night I had a blast with my colleagues. We had a few shots and we spent the night karaoke. I was glad that I wasn't drunk just a little bit tipsy because I should've been suffering from a severe headache the moment I woke up. I decided to leave on Sunday. As I checked my laundry basket and was shocked to see a mountain of dirty clothes. There's no one else to blame but me hahaha. If only I washed some of those last week, I wouldn't be troubling looking at a big pile of my dirty clothes.

Being a weekend warrior is a bad habit. The reason why I was not able to wash my clothes last week was that I got lazy in doing some chores and decided to do it the next day until it piled up on next week. A weekend warrior is someone who does all the chores that could've been done on some other days, but, the "I-could-do-it on weekends" mentality makes the weekend very tight on doing all the chores.

The weekend is supposed to be spent relaxing or having a trip with family or friends but instead, you will be staying home to do all the piled chores.

There are times when I avoid being a weekend warrior but most of the time, I spent the weekends overworking myself by doing all the chores I did not do on the other days.

I admit that I lack time management and organizing skills. Managing time and organizing things well is very important for a person to develop and grow productively. I wanted to be productive but because of my work on weekdays, I feel tired and lazy to do some chores so they end up piling up on the weekends. It is very demotivating to look at the huge piles of chores to do on weekends but I got no choice since I live away from home and there's no one else I could call to do it for me.

I hope this will be the last time that I made myself a weekend warrior. I badly want to spend the weekends with friends, family or just by myself relaxing. There should be at least two days that we can take a rest after a long week at work or school.

Let us all be fighters and warriors. Just not on the weekends.

So, are you a weekend warrior too?

As a mom, I'm not just a weekend warrior but also a weekdays, oh wait! Perhaps I would say, everyday I'm a warrior 😅. Just like you, I sometimes failes to do some of my chores as I felt lazy. I'm also lack in discipline and time management and so things becomes hard and complicated to me.😅

Weekends for me now are not a rest days anymore. It feels like an extension of my working days. I feel so tired and exhausted sometimes, but yes, we need to be a warrior all the time!

Yes, weekends can be so stressful to think about sometimes too. The days we thought we could rest are the days when we do work as well haha
