How I learnt Swedish Hi **readcash** readers and writers. I am sorry I didn't write recently but I am really in a chaos . Today I want to share with you something that helped me a lot. This is how I learnt Swedish language few years ago,and of course still learning. As I mentioned before I moved to Sweden from Serbia, five years ago, and the biggest problem and barriere was new language.Maybe it was wrong to come without knowledge of the common words but I thought I will learn it only if I am there. My husband was working hard in order to rent us an apartmant and to make good environment for starting learning language before I apply for a job. I had time, because only he worked to apply for a free language school so called **sfi - Swedish for Immigrants.** Sfi is designed for foreigners who want to acquire fundamental knowledge of the Swedish language. Anyone older than 16 who has received a Swedish personal identity number has a lawful right to free Sfi studies and can choose which school to attend....At the beginning it is definitely a big challenge but the desire is important. It is very useful if you really want to learn a language. I tried various methods to learn the language as soon as possible. I started learning Swedish only when I moved. I studied every day, looking for various interesting ways to learn. I invented some word games just to learn in the most interesting and easy way possible. Basically, in the beginning my goal was to learn at least 5 words every day. I think it's a great method, it can be like a challenge, to learn a certain number of words every day. SFI helped me a lot too. I met new friends from all over the world, we exchanged books, knowledge and tips for learning Swedish. But the biggest progress in my knowledge actually was when I started working in a home for elderly people as a nurse, because the personnel and patients were native speakers and I had to do my best to adopt and it really helped. This is all for now. See you soon with new topic. Greetings

Sweden a beautiful country- worth visiting Let me introduce a country I currenly live in -Sweden. It was difficult for me five years ago to adapt to new changes especially to differences in weather climate conditions ,Long rainy days, and new language but now it Is easier and me and my family love Sweden as we were born here. There Are many things we still don't understand why and how happen there but I hope I will understand one day. Sweden Is beautiful country- and climate doesn't have to prevail you From visiting it.The weather is sometimes beautiful and nature Is awersome. The nature Is Real treasure in Sweden, they keep clean and safe the environment. The Kingdom of Sweden is located in the east of the Scandinavian Peninsula . It is one of the first countries in the world in terms of living standards.Recently the standard Is down a little but it Is caused From economy crisis worldwide.Even during pandemija ,we lives and worked regulary, without some limits, so somehow people didn't feel the same stress as in other countries. It has a land border with Norway and Finland, and is connected to Denmark by a bridge. In the late 19th and early 20th centuries, large numbers of Swedes emigrated to Canada and the United States. The population structure changed during and after World War II. Sweden was neutral during World War II, and after that it reached a high standard, so it was, and still is, the target of emigrants . The majority of the population are Swedes, while the minority are Finns and Sami in the north. In the last ten years there are a lot of people from other countries, who migrated in Sweden. Sweden's greatest natural resources are forests , which cover more than half of the territory, as well as hydropower and iron ore . Water, lakes, and rivers are of social value and you can drink clean water whenever you want.

My childhood and my father I am still in my town where I grew up and today I want to talk about my childhood but the part of my childhood dedicated to my father who died 22 years ago when he was at the age of forty-eight .My mother was only 38 when he passed away. Observing my home beings me back to my childhood.I was so happy as a child,I am actually the first daughter and my sister Is three years younger than me.We were so happy children and our parents were Our the biggest support. I feel as nothing changes. My impression Is that he Is still alive and that he will show up at the gate from his work ,like he used to many years ago. The memory of my defunct father brings back wonderful memories. His name Is Ivan and he was the Best father ever, for me and my sister. We miss him so much. He was a good man, He was a wonderful father, everyone around loved him, and the children especially. He loved to tell jokes, to help people, he knew how to do everything. I took photos from the wall of my mother's bedroom,it was a photo of their wedding. My father made this wonderful house and everything in it with his own hands. He loved manual work, and he enjoyed making new objekta, repairing old furniture, and everything was made in passion and love. He had a talent for everything, whatever he could imagine, he could make including:wooden instruments, bicycles, bird houses, he also knew how to fix clocks, broken TV or VHS recorders.People from suburbia often visited HIM to give them some useful advice. Here Is Our bed he made by his own hands He was also our pride and we were so happy having him.Being a policeman was very difficult occupation. Me and my family were often afraid for his life,he was absent from home for months, because they were sending HIM to Kosovo, because it was obligation for police officers from small places. We celebrated his every coming home, and his presents, sweets and toys were of precious importance. We keep it in our room still as you can see.It can recall wonderful memories. Some dolls and toys are still wrapped in cellophane as if they were bought yesterday and not thirty years ago. I have hundreds of them. I don't even let my children touch them, they can only watch them.My sister and I know how much valute they have for US.

Jumping in the cold water My older daughter attends Secondary school.Yesterday she called me to tell me that she had got a bad mark in PE because she refused to jump in frozen cold water with her classmates.Actually PE Physical Education in Sweden Is different from other countries as I know, actually when I was in Secondary school in my own country it was totally different. My daughter told me that they had test yesterday in the nature, near the lake,(during a summer they used lake for swimming and other water sports but during winter they go iceskating, climbing to the mountain with the equipment and jumping in the frozen water ).It Is normal for kids who were raised in Sweden, they are accustumed, since we came from the Balkans we are afraid of getting ill after such dangerous sports. She sent me photos from her test yesterday, she took photos while her friends were jumping. In Sweden PE represent activities and learning in te natural environment. This kind of lessons and tests are the hardest,so they always say that the toughest PE lessons are how to escape freezing water. In front of their classmates and teachers ,one by one, they need to jump,in an survival instict, the only thing in their mind Is to get out of the frozen water. It Is also hard to get dry after that,it Is usually -5 degree. Sometimes they organized pivnica and prepare good after their lessons,so this Is Part of the lessons they everyone adore. Even though it looks hard ,the students really enjoy their school time. In the summer my daughter had a rowing challange during PE.She and her friend were in the boat rowing alone till the middle of the lake, and they suddenly stopped there, couldn't move to return so the teacher had to go and Help them to return. It was also a kind of test for a mark.In these situations you prepare to survived over difficult situations in the nature, and it Is great way to learn and prepare for a difficult life. I hope you like my article.I am going to write more about Swedish customs in the future.

Family reunion As I mentioned in my previous post I am currenty in Serbia, actually in my birthplace and I am preparing to pick my mother up from the hospital. She Is in a hospital,in a town that Is 70 km far away from our birthplace. My mother was taken to the hospital there, two weeks ago because of ****pancreatitis .**** Pancreatitis Is inflammation of the pancreas. The doctors told me that they have to check her blood today again and if everything Is OK she will be released from there home today. We are looking forward to seeing her . My sister from Belgrade Is also here, she came yesterday so we will wait together for our mother,to prepare her warm welcome, like in the past times when we were together. It Is strange but I came from Sweden by plane for two hours(the flight) plus two hours by bus,and my sister who lives in the same country but different city needed eight hours by bus, because of bad road condition and distance.. Unfortunatelly, she will stay only two days, because she has four kids, and one of them Is a baby, and her family need her.I am worried about her too. Finally we are together at the same place as when we were children .I hope today our mother will be with us too,in our home, the one that evokes so many memories from our childhood.. Recalling memories make me happy and nostalgic in the same time. Last night ,my sister and I found an old album with family pictures ,and we recall every moment From the past.Pictures with our difunct father Are the most precious. He died when we were teenagers,.Now both of us have familes, kids, but his absence still hurts. Thanks God,our mother oversurvived now,but she needed to take care about her health a lot in the future.I am sad because pancreatitis caused to receive insulin four times per day for the rest of Her life.As I am nurse,I will help her these days,to be accustumed to new circumstances, because I have to leave in a week two.I hope I can encourage her to accept changes in her life. The text Is mine, original.I hope you like it .I will write soon when I find time.

Nostalgia for birthplace Let me introduce myself to you.My name Is Nina,I come from a little town in eastern-southern part of Serbia but I live temporary in Sweden with my family.I moved there five years ago.I was searching for better life for my children especially in educational way,and also the standard in scandinavian countries Is better than in my country .It was so hard at the beggining,in new place, with new people talking different language, and the most important with different point of views. It was easier for the kids, because they learn easily while playing, and few months after they started talking Swedish as they were born there ,I attended language school and it helped me a lot to learn new language so I was ready for a Job.I am a nurse with eighteen years of experience and it was not so difficult to find a Job,in home for sick and elderly people,I ve'got it when my Swedish was on some higher level.I am satisfied there, everything Is better and there isn't so much stress. The only problem Is nostalgia,a big desire to be in your country, and town with beloved people.I often come in my birthplace, whenever I have free days ,for holiday but two weeks ago my mother ,who lives alone in my birthplace, survived a hard pain and she needed to go in hospital,in another bigger city.I was so unhappy and felt impotent to do anythong to help her.I was always so connected to my mother so the situations like that drive me crazy.I asked for free days from work, bought a plane ticket and came to visit her.You cannot believe how happy she was when she saw me,I was her remedy. The doctors said that she was in critical situation, her livers and pankreas lost their function and it was so hard for her accept, stay calm and take a therapy, they were struggling for Her life..But I was like an angel for her,she started struggling and now,ten days after she Is better, tommorow they will let her go out of hospital, finally at home,I hope so.I am so happy but in the same place sad because I will go soon,I have to return back in Sweden,my family Is waiting for me,my Job,and she will stay alone, with her disease.Nostalgia will kill me.My sister lives far away too but we will find some way to help her,to visit her more often. It Is not easy at all. The family Is our treasure, and there are always some obstacles to be together.
