Matic Network Rebrands as Polygon

The India based Project Matic Network has rebranded as Polygon. With Eth fees at the current price a solution is needed. Polygon will be shifting to creating a multichain system built on Ethereum to rival the current one built on Polkadot. The goal is to help Ethereum scale fast and effectively while also reducing network fees. V.1 of the Software Development Kit (SDK) for Layer 2 aggregation is scheduled to be ready in March. It will offer support for multiple Layer 2 solutions like Optimistic Rollup, zkRollup, and Validium. SDK will allow projects to choose which scaling solution best fits their needs. All existing Matic implementations will remain fully functional. As crucial components of the Polygon ecosystem they will continue to be developed and updated. Matic token will also play a role in securing and incentivizing the ecosystem. Personally I like the news as 1. I'm a Matic and Dot holder. I believe competition is good and will force further development on both. 2.
