It's not just about WHAT you know but it's WHO you know... Getting hired is a real struggle especially if you don't know someone inside the company where you applied for a job. No matter how qualified you are, how 'almost perfect' you seemed to be for that certain job, there's still a possibility for you to not be chosen for that reason. I've been there. I experienced it myself that's why I have this audacity to bring out this topic. 😏 But... It has been long instilled in me to never ever take a job through anybody's reference. Even before I finished my degree I promised myself that I will land a job through my capabilities and not just because someone helped me. Pride? Could be. But that's me.
