Presidential Speech
Fellow countrymen and women Remember today, for we have made history today We have won But yesterday was what made today important Yesterday all of Nigeria took a stand Irrespective of religion, tribe, color, ethnicity, region and any other affiliations, we all had a dream A dream of a better tomorrow to leave for our children, a new dawn of a better time We chose who we think can deliver that dream to us A dream to unify all of us A dream shared by all of us We might seem to each other and the rest of the world to be in disarray, Arguing and fighting over a piece of land that belongs to all of us But i assure you All our dreams and destinies are shared And yesterday we showed each other that dream And if you're like me A believer in hardwork and tolerance A believer in Nigeria Then i call upon you I call upon you to fight To resist To challenge To fix To revive And to destroy whoever seeks to invoke evil upon our promised motherland The time has come To show that creativity That intensity That intelligence That superiority That divinity That the Nigerian spirit and people are known for throughout the world. If you're watching to this on a throne in a big palace Or standing next to a radio on the street to listen to this In the comfort of your lavish mansion in an exclusive neighborhood Or in a tent in the forgotten corners of the country I call on you to please not turn your back on our motherland Do not let our children ask us someday "What did you do when it was all going bad?" And not have an answer So invite you all to join hands with me With no regard to gender, religion or ethnicity To join hands and defeat all those who pray and work for our downfall All those who think they call manipulate and control our free will and God given talent All those who seek to destroy our unity All those who try to profit off the back of sincere hardworking Nigerians Everyone who uses our name to act unaccordingly and ruin our reputation You will face the music To every hardworking Nigerian To all the single parents Orphaned children Elderly citizens And struggling countrymen You will have our full support And we will do better. Permit me at this juncture to share with you a story A kid from an average hardworking family in the Northeastern part of the country Who sought to make a better life for his country He tries so hard everyday to make a change But everyday he is met with the harsh reality that his actions and voice is inconsequential So everyday he works even harder and harder With a goal in mind Nigeria as one, Nigeria for all Yesterday that kid voted And tapped his finger to a stream A stream of millions of dreams A stream of millions of destinies Today that kid was announced elected as the future leader of this great nation Countrymen and women I am that kid I heard those dreams I am proof that hardwork works and dreams do come true Our dream of a Nigerians Nigeria is possible We have to reach out and grab it We can do And by God and his infinite mercy and grace We will do it Have a good night Thank You
