Some day in my late teenage years I came across Bob Ross. While I loved to paint, most of my experience came from watercolor and aquarell paint. I fell in love with the intense colors and techniques.
While I was able to recreate some of them, most I couldn't. Paint as well as canvas were expensive after a while. And hell, did that stuff take long to dry.
Most of my stuff from back then went into the gutter, some got gifted. I kept only three of them.
I think that's the one I'm most proud of:
There are times where I really need such bright colors. Just like today. Yesterday I was in the office from 6 to 6. From before sunrise until after sunset. When driving home and getting even more annoyed by some pricks on the road here and there, only a last dark orange lining was on the far horizon.
I have a thing especially for sunrise/sunset, they are to be found in a lot of my art. I guess, when you are your darkest, the wide range of bright and warm colors is just a good balm for the soul.
