Problem 101: Land and Politics My old college friend and I had a brief conversation last night. I admire this man because he has assisted me in school and with money when I have needed it. He informed me that he has returned to his hometown (after working in another country) and that he has a problem and issue with his family concerning land and politics. In terms of the land issue, he prefers not to intervene, but he believes that the division of the land particularly the part of his mother is unfair/not right, whereas in terms of political issues, relatives on his father and mother sides are fighting for the position and he is unsure which side he will support. Most of you, I believe are in the same situation as my friend. When relatives or families compete for position and land, the result will be a crack in the relationship on both sides. Note: It happened to me as well; my relatives were running for barangay captain/mayor before and turned out that there were throwing issues, black propaganda, and the spread of fake news. Politics in the Philippines make you crazy.
