Back to the Past: Filipino Snacks Time Earlier, when I went to the store to buy coffee and magic flakes, I noticed a little kid buying "Mik-Mik". Wow, Mik-Mik is still alive/kicking, and this was one of my favorite/addictive snacks as a kid. Mik-mik is a sweetened milk powder in a red/choco sachet with a straw. I remember before I always buy five sachets of Mik-mik in the school canteen. My classmates and I have a challenge about mik-mik. After you sip using little straw the Mik-Mik, you need to whistle or sing a song, and the results you will cough many times. My friend sometimes used it like a cigar which makes him look cool and like a gang leader. I missed the snack foods in my childhood days. Some of them are still there, while some are gone now. Here is the list of snack foods 1. Bazooka Bubble Gum - There a small comics inside the wrapper. the comics title is Bazooka Joe or Joey 2. Buttercream Sunflower - Biscuits with a sugarcoat. I like this because of the sweetness flavor. 3. Choc nut - This is the ultimate chocolate bar even KitKat and Snickers can't compete for this one 4. Nata de coco in the sachet - Different colors of Nata de coco 5. Ice gem biscuits - One of the best biscuits with an icing 6. Marie Biscuits - The biscuits for the babies 7. Frostee Ice Candy - One of the best ice candy/pop - the container can be a playing gun 8. Doodoo - The pacifier with candy 9. Haw-Haw Milk Powder Candy - If you're looking for milk, then this candy will satisfy you 10. Stay fresh Mentol Candy - Green candy that can be a bullet in a straw (sumpit -blowpipe) 11. Samalamig (sago) - One of the popular drinks in my country 12. Ice Scramble - One of the best-frozen desserts in the summer season 13. Ice cream cone with icing filling - Crunchy with ice fillings 14. White rabbit candy - I called it the Elderly Candy, which favorite of my parents 15. Captain Sid and Dragon Seed - It's an addictive snack. I can't stop eating these two. 16. Sampaloc/Tamarind Candies - Your face makes it sour. Tamarind wrap in orange cellophane 17. Jellyace/Jelly Candies - Maybe most of the Filipinos eat this sweet and jelly food. 18. Ampaw - I love this crunchy puffed rice cake. Not AMpao 19. L.A.L.A Milky Chocolate - chocolate bar that you can't resist. It can beat Hershey's chocolate 20. Chichirya in the House - Tomi, Boy Bawang, Sweet corn snacks, Clover Bits, Happy Peanut, Bangus crackers, Cheepee, Tattoos, and Nagaraya 21.
