Weekend Mini Celebration "Life is an echo, what you shout will come back, which means we're not alone in our lives," the celebrant said in her birthday speech. In my previous post, I mentioned that we've been informed that there will be a mini-celebration party at the landlord's house. The birthday celebrant (Manang) is the apartment's head caretaker. Today is her 50th birthday. We (the boy's apartment) decided to go to the mall in the morning to buy her a gift and some groceries. One of my boardmates did some funny things, telling us that he forgot his wallet and had to rely on my elder boardmate (Mr.E) to pay for the gift he purchased. Of course, Mr.E paid it after I informed him that he had been pranked when we return to the apartment. Prank 101 We returned to the apartment and went to the landlord's house to assist and cook some food. I just noticed that this is the first time I've seen the landlord's family all together at Manang's birthday party. Manang appears to be very important to them, as they give time to attend and celebrate her birthday (This is not their house, this is one of the houses which they built for the caretakers of the apartments here. Rich Family). The celebration begins at 1 p.m. and I think, lasts until late at night. There are many games available for both kids and adults. It's a wonderful day: we laugh, have fun, and enjoy this mini-celebration, which also relieves some of my stress in the work. Added: 1. The celebrant, Manang, was a childhood friend of the landlord's wife. 2. They helped her because a tragedy happened to her (I will not go into detail because it is a private story). 3. When the landlord's children are young, she acts as Yaya/caretaker for them.
