I have been waiting patiently for the coriander seeds to sprout. The aim is to grow cilantro / coriander leaves hydroponically. This is day 7…

@My-crpt0-tale

Yesterday was a good walking day. especially when you are out with friends, walks don’t feel like an activity at at all. May the steps keep coming in 😝

@My-crpt0-tale

I had a decent activity day today. Hopefully I have over 10k steps over the weekend.

To Write or Not to Write Today has been one of those days - just Blah. The thoughts in my head: simply Blah blah blah.  I am not sad or upset or any such thing. It is just that I am not motivated much today. It is not even procrastination I would say. I do not want to sit in front of the computer, the TV or even the mobile. But I also know from past experiences, that one such day can lead to a few more of such days. Where all you do is dream. The day floats by. Everything feels like a haze. After a few such days, then it is a blank slate again. I abandon past projects that had me so motivated even a few weeks ago. This time around, I am going to work with this feeling and not let it bog me down. I have not forced myself to get out of this feeling. This too shall pass. But I want to get across this bridge not to have start all over again. I would like to stick to my commitments.  So here I am, just a couple of hours before my bed time, I am going to for the time being put my demotivation to the side and do what needs to be done for the day.  Workwise I know I do not have any deadlines breathing down my neck, but I would like to accomplish certain tasks today so future me, is going to be thankful that I overcame my state of mind and got some job done.  I still do have about an hour's work pending that needs to be done for the day, but I wanted to take a couple of minutes off to write this, so I am not going to feel guilty that I missed my 'write an article a day'. I am going to probably feel a little guilty knowing full well I could pick a topic from my repertoire of topic ideas, put in some effort and get an article for my blog going too. Who knows. Maybe by the time I complete all the things to do for the day, I might just get started on an article for my blog.

High-Five Hive The morning has gone by too quickly. It is not that I did too many things, it is just that I have been trying to figure out just one thing. And I am not even sure I have it figured out. So, what is it that had my attention all morning, leaving no time to do nothing else – absolutely nothing else all morning? It is HIVE. Yes, I now have a blog on Ecency. **Why do I need a Blog on Hive?** The goal is to make short posts, publish poems and maybe even some photographs of the gorgeous city I call home.   **Why did it take me all morning?** The process was overwhelming. Had no clue what I was doing or what had to be done. And this time, YouTube was not much of a helper. **What have I done so far?** I have figured that there is only so much you can do if you do not buy the HIVE Power. With the free version (can I call it that), you have to spend your resource credits wisely. As a newbie, I have noticed that resource credits are easy to deplete. And you have to wait until you have some resource credits back in your account. In the short number of hours of my presence, I have accumulated Ecency points. I have a few communities that I have started to follow. I have a few accounts that I follow. After a couple of upvotes, I have figured, resource credits are required to post as well.   **What Next?** Time to publish the first post – Not so quickly, I guess. I am going to hangout on Ecency and Hive for a couple of days before making my first post. Understand what witnesses are and what I can do with my 30 votes.     **How often do I intend to post once I am active on the platform?** At the moment, I am thinking something like 3 times a week.   If you are on HIVE, consider following me: @keechadkikali https://hive.blog/@keechadkikali

Bucket List for April Sometimes, making a to do list can be so stressful. It feels like a chore that needs to be accomplished before you can mark it as complete. Where is the fun in doing chores or making everything feel like it is a chore that needs to be done? Am I subtly conditioning myself that if I can’t accomplish items off my to do list, that I am incapable of time management or am a procrastinator or that I need to be constantly doing something to feel like I have achieved something over the day? And what if I don’t work off a to do list. Then, I do the things that I would normally do right. I go with the flow. Accomplishing tasks as and when it is absolutely necessary for me to do so. And along the way, I just keep off completely the things that bring me joy. Because I am focusing my energy and time on the things that I would anyways do, just because I need to get them done. Over a period of time, maybe this can lead to a waste of my talents, my time and my life just passes by. So recently, I created a bucket list for the month. These are a list of things I would like to do and I hope to do and mix them with the tasks I anyways would do before the month of April is done. My monthly bucket list does not necessarily include ‘Take a trip around the world’ or go ‘bungee jumping’. The objective of my monthly bucket list is to come up with tasks I would like to somehow include in my day-to-day living. 1.      Write one article a day. Since it is already the 20th of April, I have 10 articles to go. 2.      Cook something I have never cooked before. 3.      Walk 75000 steps. That amounts to just 7500 steps in a day. Of course, it is a small number of steps. But do I do it every day? Nope. I do not, yet. 4.      Declutter. 5.      Step out of the house for 45 minutes at least every day. We are constantly working and when you work from home, then this can become quite a task to manage the time. Let’s see how this will work out for me. Creating a list to be conquered before the month is up. If this works for me, then no more to-do lists for me. Only Bucket Lists.

My Favorite Cryptos to Trade in for the Short Term I think I am a relatively safe investor / trader. I test muddy waters, make a small margin, exit and am ready for my next trade. And I do it all over again and again on a daily basis. My aim is to be able to trade everyday but some weeks I can get in only about a trade a week, and that too is fine. If you are a beginner, here are some of the things that you should know before you start trading in cryptos: Don’t invest all your savings in crypto coins - This is the first and most important rule in investing. Don’t put all your eggs in one basket. Having said that, take a small amount (that you would otherwise spend on shopping) and get started. So, there is no stress of losing all your money. Don’t invest your money in one crypto – No matter how large or how small your investment amount, pick a few crypto coins to invest in. Choose what you would like to invest in for the long term and the short term. Be realistic and do your research. Automate Buy and Sell – Create a buy order and always, always create a sell order once your buy order has been fulfilled, unless you want to hold the crypto for long term.  **The cryptocurrency is a highly volatile market. You can get high yields of return or you can see your investment take a nose dive in to the deep.  Choose your coins to invest in wisely.**  Here are my favorite coins to trade in for the short term: BTC – Why Not. We all know the BTC is here is to stay. BUSD - For those days, when I am in no mood to pay attention. Well, I could rather stay away from the trade itself, but I would like to get in a trade every day that I can. LUNA – I am still waiting to fulfil a sell order created 2 days ago. XRP and Matic – Some days are a hit and some days a miss. And I might even wait a few days to fulfil an order.   I am not a financial advisor and do not promote any specific crypto currency. I am merely writing my experiences and learnings. You are advised to do your own research before investing in any crypto currency and on any platform.

@My-crpt0-tale

Terra Luna and Me Is Luna Jinxed for me? I have this experience with Luna and this is not the first time that I have experienced this, not even the second time, not even for the third time. Let's just say, it has been quite a few number of times. And I am beginning to think that I should just stay off the Luna wagon for sometime. I trade Terra Luna amongst other cryptos, and every single time I buy the Luna coin and create a sell order, the value of the coin plummets. Since I try to trade a couple of times at the least in a week and if not every day, the sell orders are a small margin. Not even 1$ or .5c. Many a times, it is far far below the .5c margin. I have experimented this with less than .1c margin as well. And I wait a while until the order can be fulfilled. The last time it lasted a few weeks, lets just say maybe a month. So what is it with Luna. Many of my other orders get fulfilled even if it takes a week, but Luna gets me every time. Maybe I am better off staking Luna while I can. Do you have a coin that gets you every time you trade that coin. Let me know.

New Resolution - Accomplishing Goals / Tasks Ok, this has been on my mind for some time now and I thought I would share this with you. We start many endeavors and tasks on a regular basis and on a daily basis but how many of them are we committed to. How many tasks get done by the end of the day. Is it sheer lethargy that stops us from getting things done or a lack of discipline or at a deeper level is it a lack of self-worth and talking oneself down that we don’t accomplish our tasks on our to do lists? Then again, many of us tend to finish our office projects / tasks before the deadline, right? So, what is it that stops us from putting in the same amount of effort in our personal to-do lists? Reading that book, writing an article, publishing the article, not giving up on the YouTube channel, understanding analytics, getting some exercise, getting that certification you always wanted to. We would do all of this if it was a part of our KRA’s in the office. Right? I have numerous projects that get left off when a new idea comes along, numerous tasks that are barely even initiated, so I think it is time for me to break this pattern. And here is how I will accomplish it: There is no such thing as a difficult task or an easy task. By classifying it as easy, the mind doesn’t think it was that big an accomplishment. And by saying it is a difficult task, the mind is ready to receive obstacles along the way, and yes, it will find or create obstacles to make that task difficult. Make a short list of to-do’s for the day. Don’t overcrowd the list. And don’t make it too long that it is an overwhelming experience to just creating the list. Keep the list where you can see it. Not in a notebook somewhere that doesn’t get opened up the next day or whenever. Set yourself some realistic goals and deadlines. Get off your ass and start ticking off those items on the list. Remember, you are accountable to yourself at the end of the day.

Walk and Earn Cryptos Have you heard of platforms that pay you when you are active? Yes, Maybe, No? Well, probably there are many platforms out there, but here let me tell you about 2 of the apps that I have been using for a few months now. I use these apps not as a motivation for me to get walking, but since I anyways am a walker, I am just glad that I can earn cryptos as I walk. **Sweatcoin –** You earn a point for every 1000 steps you take and also can claim bonus rewards for watching ads (limited to 3 in a day). In the last week, Sweatcoin has announced that they will launch their crypto coin this summer. You can also cash out via paypal, amazon and other gifts that you can purchase with your points. Points add up real quickly on this app.  **sMiles –** With the sMiles you earn Satoshis not just when you walk, but you can also win Satoshis by playing the game of chess on the app, and spinning the fortune wheel.  **If you want to sign up to any of these platforms, click the link below:**   **Sweatcoin –** https://sweatco.in/i/kamalj45342102892 Check out this free app — It Pays to Walk   **sMiles -** https://join.smilesbitcoin.com/jaykay930   Image for Pexels

After a Short Break And just like that, it has been over 2 months that I first made my post on read.cash Have I written regularly on the platform? absolutely not. What did I do, How did the time go by so quickly. Well, I took a break. I traveled to India. South India to be specific. Bangalore to be more specific. Was I a tourist? Not at all. Bangalore is my home far away from home. I was in Bangalore for 45 days and what a blast it was. I met my family and extended family. I traveled to the temple town of Sringeri and Mysore. I partook in a wedding reception and a house warming ceremony / ritual. Well, if you are from the southern states of India, you know any auspicious ceremonies have an entire day of rituals and without them the ceremony is just not complete. Now, that I had my break, and am back energized, I hope to be more regular with my posts here. :)

Don’t Give Up On Your Blog There are a number of blogs that are created every single day and only a handful of them become very successful. How many times have you thought of quitting your blog and how many times have you actually quit your blog?  If you are a new blogger, you understand how it is important to stay motivated to continue blogging when you don’t see the results that you aimed for. I have had multiple blogs over the past many years. Some of them did not take off at all and some fizzled out gradually while a few blogs did see some growth and success. Now, after many years and many blogs, I can put a finger on why my initial blogs failed.  Here are the Top 5 reasons why my blogs failed: **1. Giving up**  One of my very first blog was a platform where I published poems. I would publish multiple poems as and when I wrote them. There was absolutely no rhyme and reason to how often I would post. If I felt like it, I would post and then few weeks of no activity on the blog. This was a blog that I thought would stay with me for a long time. But because I was not committed to it and by not prioritizing it slipped away. When even after a few months I did not go back to it, I knew it was not going to be my forever blog and I quit. **2. No Strategy** Even when I had my first blog, I had multiple blogs simultaneously that focused on multiple topics. And this means that I did not have any focus on any blog. I had no direction in which way I was headed. My blogs had no strategy, I did not have goals that I wanted to accomplish from my blog. I ran all over the place and quite frankly, it was exhausting. **3. Unrealistic Expectations** Though I had expectations, I did not put in the effort to drive the traffic.  Let’s face it, it is sometimes demotivating when your blogs have no visitors and I set some unrealistic timelines and deadlines and when these were not met, it was easier for me to look the other way. **4. Start too Many too Soon**  Just like many of you, I had too many ideas and started too many blogs almost at the same time. I did have a calendar and schedule for posting. But as I previously said, I had unrealistic expectations and unrealistic deadlines. And boom. Nothing happened on any of the sites. It was hard to keep up and eventually I gave up. **5. Social Recluse** I was not a very social media savvy person and allowed that to affect my blogs as well. I would delete posts and hide posts and save them back to drafts and did not share on any social media. Almost as if there was fear of being judged. No one knew of my blogs and let’s face it, it felt like a safe space. Well, until I stopped going back to those blogs as well. Here are some of the things I wish I could tell my self at the very onset of my blogging journey. **1. Have a Strategy**  Write down all the ideas that you come up with. Don’t act on every single idea. Prioritize. Pick one that resonates with you. Create timelines and article ideas. Create a repository of article ideas for when you feel like you have nothing to write about. Analyse what other bloggers in your niche are talking and writing about. Think of your blog as a community you are trying to build for your audience.   **2. Start One Blog at a Time**   Instead of trying to juggle and post 2 to 3 or how many ever articles every week on the blogs, focus on one blog. Generate quality content that your audience is interested in. Don’t start your second or third blog until you start driving a steady stream of visitors to your first blog. **3. Be Social**   Create content that you can share on social media platforms. Know what social media platforms your audience is using and be more social on those platforms. Take some time to interact with your audience. Reply to comments and answer their queries. Listen to what they have to say and you never know, you might get your next article idea from a comment. **4. Don’t Give Up Just Yet**   Driving traffic to your blog takes time. It is not rocket science, but it takes some effort to drive the traffic to your blog site. Sure, it sucks to have no one care about what you have written but don’t let that be a reason for why you are quitting your blog. Try something different. Have your friends share your articles and get their opinions. Always be ready to adapt and move ahead. **Be consistent and be social. You will first notice the traffic starting to trickle to your website before the traffic starts to flow. Have patience and nurture your blog as you would nurture any business that you start.**  ***Be Consistent and Happy Blogging***   image from Pixabay https://wpxplorer.com/dont-give-up-on-your-blog/

How to Drive Traffic from Quora So, you have a website. And you write content regularly. Even the most informative and beautifully designed website has no value if you cannot get visitors to your website. There are many sources where you can get traffic from, but in this article, we will see how to drive traffic from Quora. We have all seen Quora show up as a result when we look for something on Google. Quora is a question and answer based website. The Questions and answers are both added by the users. It has approximately 300 million users per month. And that makes it a treasure trove of visitors for bloggers and affiliate marketers. Like any other social media, it is easy to get side tracked and spend a couple of hours reading Pet stories or romantic stories that can get you teary eyed. But try to stay focussed and keep all the light reading for your downtime period. **Let’s start.** Sign up on Quora. Update your Profile. Create a Space. Update the Details of your space. Provide a link to your website if you have one. Post articles in your space. The objective is to grow your own community. You may not have many followers initially, but being consistent and some patience can build your community. The way to drive traffic from Quora is to answer relevant questions that other users have asked and link to your blog or affiliate program as a way to help other readers. You do not have to provide links in all your answers but just where you think it adds value to your answer. **Here are some ways you can find the most relevant question for you.** Follow Spaces Type your niche in the search box, there will be a drop down, you can choose from. Look for space in your niche with a high following, click on the space you want to follow and follow that space. Click on the Questions tab, you will find a huge list of questions. Read through the questions and start answering those questions you have knowledge in.   When you answer questions with a space that has a huge following, then the chances of answers getting noticed is more. Answer as many questions as you can and provide links wherever necessary.   **Tip – Follow multiple spaces in your niche** Follow People To find users with huge following in your niche, select a space, and then view all contributors. Choose to follow users with high content views. Follow them. Go to the user profiles and look at their questions (if any) and answers. See if you can answer any of them. Since those users already have a following and are generating thousands if not a million views, you can leverage on their expertise of selecting questions when you answer them. Makes sense?  Find High Weekly Views Questions on Quora You can use a SEO like SEMrush tool to find the high traffic keywords on Quora in your Niche. But you can also use Quora Ads Section to Find questions with a high traffic. Here, we will see how we can use Quora to find questions that have a high traffic. 1. Click on your Profile and select Ad Manager. 2. Select New Campaign. 3. Provide a Title to your campaign. 4. Select Generic as a conversion event. 5. Set a maximum budget. (Don’t worry, we will not run the campaign) 6. Click Continue. 7. Provide an Ad set name. 8. Select Questions as your Primary Targeting. 9. Select Bulk Add. And enter your niche. Example – Digital Marketing. 10. Click Continue. Now you will see a list of questions with their weekly views. You can select any question and you will be redirected to the question page. You can answer the questions with high weekly views.  **Things to Remember when you answer questions on Quora** Keep your answer relevant. Provide as much information as you can. Keep your answer original. Do not copy and paste other users answers. Try to keep your answer over 3 – 4 short paragraphs. Add images to draw attention to your answer. Do not spam. Do not provide unnecessary affiliate links in your answers. You may be penalized on Quora.  You may not see a surge in your traffic on Day 1. You should look at Quora as a long-term traffic strategy. Answer questions, Ask Questions and build your community. – ***The traffic to your website first starts to trickle in before it starts to flow.***  ***Happy Blogging***  *Image from Pexels *Original Blog https://wpxplorer.com/how-to-drive-traffic-from-quora/

Get Paid in PRE (Presearch) Tokens for searching the Internet I came across Presearch a couple of days ago while reading up on Quora or Publish0x, I can’t recall very well now. So, I signed up. I have been using Presearch for a few days now. And this is what I think of it. https://presearch.org/signup?rid=3690972 I use Google search all the time, multiple times a day, or should I say multiple times in an hour. Because it is convenient and I am always looking things up on the internet (the value of BTC, a recipe, research for blog topics, the list goes on). But here’s the thing, Google shares none of its profit to me as a user who is a part of their success. What would a search engine be without its users right? This is how Presearch is different. It pays its users in the form of PRE tokens. https://presearch.org/signup?rid=3690972 **What is** **Presearch** https://presearch.org/signup?rid=3690972 On their website, Presearch mentions: “The Presearch Engine harnesses the power of a number of the world’s top search engines and other data sources to provide users with a compelling search experience that offers great results, protects user privacy, provides more choice and control, while also being censorship-resistant.” **4 Reasons why you should use Presearch as your Search Engine** 1. You get 25 PRE tokens as a sign-up bonus. At the time of writing this article, 1 PRE token is valued at $0.2548. Signup now and receive your 25 PRE tokens https://presearch.org/signup?rid=3690972 PRESEARCH.ORG https://presearch.org/signup?rid=3690972 2. You get paid in PRE tokens for 30 searches in a day. Well, it is not a whole lot of PRE tokens that you make in a day. But you are getting paid to search, so keep searching. It will eventually total to a larger sum. 3. There is no difference in the speed it displays the searches. As a user, I am not affected by the search results. I can find what I am looking for. 4. You can narrow down your search with the sites you use often. You can look things up on Google, Youtube, Amazon, Netflix, and lots more sites. This is an amazing feature in my opinion. That’s not it. You can do more at Presearch.  Signup now and receive your 25 PRE tokens https://presearch.org/signup?rid=3690972 PRESEARCH.ORG https://presearch.org/signup?rid=3690972 *I do not own the image used. and it is the property of its owner.

How to Increase Your Website Traffic One of the frequently asked questions by new bloggers is ‘How do I increase traffic to my website?’ It is very common for a new website to get a few visitors to zero traffic in the initial couple of months. It probably has happened to the best bloggers out there. But what makes a successful blogger is staying committed to blogging even when the analytics screams at you to give up. Getting a low traffic to your website in the initial weeks and months can be a positive thing. What? You may ask. Well, for one, you do not have a lot of content to keep your visitor engaged. Secondly, there may be some usability issue and you can use this time to fix it before your blog explodes with visitors and you have people leaving your site. Next, you can create foundations across social media and create your presence and work on strategies. Lastly, your resilience to blogging becomes stronger. Assuming that you write quality content and you are still not getting any traffic to your website, there are few things that you can do to start getting organic traffic. How long does it take for a new website to get traffic? It takes time. Let’s be honest here. If you have a niche that is very competitive then it is going to take some time. How much time? It can take anywhere between 5 – 6 months before you can start to see some organic traffic to your website. If you target long tail keywords with lower search volumes then you can start seeing visitors to your website in 2 – 3 months. Consistency is the blueprint to success. Write blog posts and publish them regularly. Focus on long tail keywords. Some article ideas can be: 1. Answer a specific question in your niche (How to, why does, are great starting points.) 2. Review products or services 3. Write pillar posts. (Large articles with as much information that you can share about the topic. This should be over 3000 words) Now let’s take a look at some of the most common reason **why you blog is not getting any traffic.** 1. Blog post / page is not indexed. You may have indexed your website sitemap. But there may be issues with having your post indexed. To fix this, go to your Google search Console à Insert the blog post / specific page URL in the inspect any URL section à If the result says URL not found on Google, then you can request Indexing. If your blog / page is not indexed by Google, then your page / blog is not going to show up in Google search results. 2. Your Page is too Slow Search engines are partial to websites that load fast. See how much time it takes your website to load. Remove unwanted images and plugins from your site. Google Page speed and GTMetrix offer solutions to speed up your website. Fix any issues that may be causing a low page load. https://developers.google.com/speed/pagespeed/insights/ https://gtmetrix.com/ Ideally, your website should load in less than a second. 3. Content is not Fresh This does not mean you have to write about a topic that has never been written before. It simply means write better than your competitor. Read your competitors articles, write down your approach to writing that article. Make a list of points that your competitor does not talk about. Add value to your article, provide videos, images and infographics that will add value to your readers. 4. You are Targeting Highly Competitive Keywords As a new blogger, your website has a low Domain Authority, you have low backlinks, and low engagement on your site. Your site does not stand a chance when you compete for highly competitive keywords. Target Less competitive long tail keywords with a search difficulty of less than 50. 5. Your Keyword has a Low Search Volume You may have written an article that is not searched enough on the internet. It may be because it is seasonal or out dated. You should do keyword research before you start writing an article. A good keyword research becomes a guide to your article. Take advantage of the similar keywords people are searching for. Build your article around those questions or topics.  **List of Keyword Research Tools** Keyword Planner, Keyword Anywhere, Answer the Public,  Google Trends, Ahrefs, MOZ Keyword Explorer, Semrush, Soovle https://keywordtool.io/ https://answerthepublic.com/ https://trends.google.com/trends/ https://ahrefs.com/ https://moz.com/explorer https://shareasale.com/r.cfm?b=1537039&u=2960632&m=97231&urllink=&afftrack= https://www.semrush.com/ https://soovle.com/ 6. Do a SEO Audit As a beginner, you may not want to invest in a SEO tool and you don’t have to do so right away. But as a beginner, it is important that you maintain a SEO Checklist for every posy you publish. Check that you have a user-friendly URL, H1 tag, H2 – H5 tags, name your images properly, provide internal links within your site, have a unique focus keyword to your site, meta description, etc. 7. Set up an Email List Build an email list. Send emails to your subscribers when you have published your post. Provide value to your audience. Give them reason to look forward to your email. Give away products, discount code, recipe books, digital products, designs or anything else that is specific to your niche. Tools – Campaign monitor, sendinblue, Get Response, Mailchimp, constant contact 8. Set up and Build Social Media Presence Set up accounts on Instagram, Pinterest, Facebook, twitter and join groups where your posts help the community. Start Sharing your posts on social media sites. Start where you already have a network – Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, WhatsApp. Analyze your posts that you post on social media platforms. Analyze which social media platforms is driving traffic to your site. Lastly, engage with your audience. 9. Blog Regularly It takes time to get a regular stream of visitors to your site. The more articles you publish, you have more opportunities to drive traffic to your site and for keywords to rank on search engines. Stay motivated and don’t give up. **The traffic first starts to trickle in before it starts to flow…**

20 Reasons Why Your Blog is Not Getting Visitors If you are a new blogger, you may have thought “Why am I not getting any visitors on my website?”. Well, you are a new blogger and it takes some time to gain credibility and have a list of subscribers. You may notice some activity on the blogs social media handles, and some visitors to your website but it is not enough to generate a steady stream of visitors to your site. With the exception of a few websites, a lot of blogs have been through this phase before they started doing well. In the initial days, weeks and months of the blog, it is important to create a healthy and optimized website. So, it becomes second nature as you post more content going forward. Let’s take a look at 20 reasons why your blog is not getting visitors. **1. Site / Page is not indexed or there is an issue with the page.** Yes, you have submitted your sitemap on the search engines, but have you checked to see all the pages on your website have been indexed? There is a good chance that your page has been de-indexed. Or certain pages may not be indexed at all. If a website has not been indexed, there is a good chance that it will not show in the search results. **2. The quality of your content is poor.** The quality of the content is poor and the Content is not focus keyword driven. In some instances, the focus keyword and its synonym words are not mentioned in the article or in the headings. If you think the quality of your content is poor, read articles from your competitors and see how you can rewrite it in your own words and add value to your readers. Improve the quality of your content and see how the traffic improves. **3. Too broad a niche.** You have not narrowed down a niche. You write about too many things in too many different fields. It is advised to narrow down a niche so your readers can know what to expect from your blog. **4. You do not post regularly.** This is something most bloggers are guilty of doing in the initial days of blogging. They do not post blogs regularly and when they do post that one blog post, they expect a huge traffic to flow to the website. Unfortunately, this is not how it works. And not posting articles on the website regularly can be a reason why you are not receiving any visitors to your website. **5. There are very few articles/posts on your blog.** You do post articles but very far and few in between. Chances of getting visitors to your website with the number of articles you post on your site. You get better at writing and understanding what is working for you as you write and post more content on your website. **6. You do not post on social media.** Another reason why there is no traffic to your website maybe that you do not post your articles on social media. Most of us are guilty of this in the beginning. We write posts but do not work beyond to drive visitors to our website. A lot of traffic can be generated from Pinterest, Quora, Reddit and Tumblr. There are niche specific groups on social media that might be interested in your post. And since you do not post on social media, you may be missing out on an opportunity to drive traffic to your website. Or you maybe promoting your posts to the wrong target audience on social media. **7. Website is not optimized for SEO.** The post maybe poorly structured. It may be missing H1 tags or images have no alt text or it could be that the images have been named incorrectly. There is no keyword in the content and no meta descriptions, internal and external links maybe missing aw well. In the first couple of months, it is important to work with a SEO checklist for every article you publish. That way, it becomes easier to optimize each post as you go along. **8. Website is too slow.**  Search engines tend to stay away from pages that take too much time to load and so do the readers. Optimize images to load faster and do not have unnecessary images and videos that take time to load. Use CDN if you can. There are multiple plugins that can make the website speed faster. Check the speed of your website:   Google Page speed    GTMetrix https://developers.google.com/speed/pagespeed/insights/ https://gtmetrix.com/ **9. The length of the articles is too short.** The length of your article may be too short unless it is a specific query related article. Try to have the content over 1500 words and include as much information as you can for that particular topic. Some of the articles that do well are those that have anywhere between 1500 – 3000 words. **10. Competing with highly ranked keywords.** Focus on long tail keywords in the beginning. If you are a new blogger, you do not stand a chance to beat the established sites for the highly ranked keywords. As your credibility increases, you can compete for the higher ranked keywords. **11. Content is not original.** When you are doing your research, it can tempt you to take a couple of snippets from various blogs to compile into your article. Create original content. Even if it does you take more effort and more time. The rewards can be very satisfying. **12. The URLs are named properly.** It is important for URLs and the URL structure to be named correctly for SEO purpose. Have the keyword or its synonym in the URL. **13. The DA score of your website is too low.**  A new website has a low DA score.  Over a period of time, the DA score of the website will increase, but adding the website on directories with a good score, social media sites is a good start to building the DA score. **14. Website is not optimized for Mobile Devices.** **15. Page Titles and Meta Description.**  Write clear page titles and have a short yet descriptive meta description. Do not stuff the page titles and meta description with keywords. Include the keywords or its synonyms in a natural way of writing. Keep it simple and easy to understand what the readers can expect to find if they click on your article. Don’t have click baits and spammy titles to mislead your readers. **16. Your niche is seasonal or news stories based, these articles are not evergreen articles and the search volume may be very low over a period of time.** If you are writing articles that is seasonal and becomes outdated very quickly, then the chances of being found for articles written a while ago might not get traction at all. Try to include multiple news stories throughout the day to maintain the freshness and relevancy for your readers. **17. Website is not responsive and may have too many broken links and links to dummy pages.**  A website that is not responsive may be penalized and will not show up in the search results. There are many website templates that are responsive and does not require too much coding. Invest in a responsive wordPress theme or find a free theme that will make your website responsive. Use tools that will show you a list of broken links in your website and fix them when you notice a broken link.  **18. Website structure is poor** **19. Try to understand the analytics of your website and the performance to understand the keywords that is getting you impressions, so you can improve on those articles.** **20. Check if you have any Google Penalties.**  Check that you do not have any google penalties – ensure your sentences are grammatically correct, you have not stuffed your article with keywords, etc. If you have any google penalties, go to your Google Search console, and manual actions and correct the pages or any issues that is causing the Google penalty. ***Happy Blogging***

How to Stay Motivated to Blogging Even When You do not See the Results At some point of our blogging journey, we have all felt a lack of motivation to write a blog post. If you are a beginner, having no visitors to your website can be a major factor why you are not motivated to stay committed to blogging. It would require a miracle or too much luck for a blog to reach a million + views more in its initial stages. To be a blogger requires some level of self-discipline to keep posting articles. Especially when you are not seeing the results you hoped for. Here are some ways how you can stay motivated to blogging even when you do not see the results. **1. Show Up No Matter What** If you have a post schedule, then stick to it. If you don’t have a schedule, then create one. Even if it creating 2 posts per week. Write those articles and publish them. There may be someone who will find your content helpful at some point. This should be motivation enough. **2. Share your Blog** Share your blog with your family and friends and encourage them to share your blog with their network. Be prepared to receive criticism. Work on improving your site with the feedback from your family and friends. **3. Create a Routine**  Create a blogging routine. Be disciplined. And stick to the routine. Even if it is 30 minutes a day that you have allocated to your blog. This does not necessarily mean, that you have to write for 30 minutes a day. Take this time to reply to comments. You can use this time to promote a previously written blog post on the social media platforms. Or you can use Tumblr, Reddit and Quora to answer questions in your niche. Always be on the lookout. Your next great article idea might be out there. **4. Keep your Phone on Silent**  This may not seem like much. But our cell phones can be a major distraction for us. Keep your phone on silent mode. **5. Create a Topic Repository** Maintain a list of all the topic ideas that you come up with. This is extra beneficial at times when you feel like you do not have anything to write about. **6. Change Your Writing Place** If you notice that, you are doing everything else instead of writing like watching a game on TV, or doing dishes, playing video games, cooking or anything else, then try changing the place where you write your blog. You can go to a coffee shop or the beach or a library. This way there will be fewer distractions and you will be more productive. **7. Join a Blogging Support Community**  Join a support group for new bloggers, there are multiple groups on Facebook or Pinterest group boards that you can join. You can create post calendars and work with your blogging companion. You can have similar work hours to motivate each other to posting articles regularly.  **8. Blog Because you Enjoy Blogging**  Write an article simply because writing about the niche. Not because you are getting visitors or you are making tons of money on your blog. **9. Create Small Measurable Goals**  Celebrate your first 10 posts, celebrate your first month of blogging, celebrate your first 10 followers on social media, your first email subscriber. Create small goals that you can enjoy. Take the stress out of blogging. To be successful at blogging is a continuous journey. And as they say, enjoy the journey. Someday, you will have a great story to share. **10. Take a Break from Blogging**  Take a break from your blog maybe once a week or every fortnight. Don’t think about it, don’t go looking at the analytics, don’t go searching keywords. Just enjoy your day. Remember, we choose to blog because it is one of the ways we can be our own bosses. Don’t let that be a stressful situation for you. Learn to enjoy all the stages of blogging. Create strategies to drive traffic to your site. And always remember – ***The traffic to your website first starts to trickle in before it starts to flow.***  ***Happy Blogging***

4.5 Day Work week in UAE Over the past few years, there has been a couple of changes being made for the corporate sector in the United Arab Emirates. From having its weekly holidays on Friday and Saturday, the government has announced that the official weekly holidays to be on Saturday and Sunday. And the government and semi-government sectors would work until noon on Friday and resume work on Monday morning. So that makes it a 4.5-days work week for many in the Middle East. While the rest of the United Arab Emirates follow this weekly holiday, Sharjah has a 4-day work week - making Friday, Saturday and Sunday the weekly holidays for the government sectors. The private corporations have the flexibility to follow suite. Though it is too early and many private sector organizations are yet deciding on their weekly holidays, Saturday and Sunday still continue to be the weekly holidays for many in the country. While there are some, that are yet to transition and are back to work on Sunday morning. Does a 4-day work week or a 4.5-day work week change what we do without time and how we manage our work - life balance? To some extent yes. There is more time to socialize, go on that staycation, travel places, or simply do chores and organize for the week ahead without being exhausted by the time the weekend ends. (Yes, you will need a weekly holiday to get over this exhaustion). Would you manage your time any different if you had a 4-day or a 4.5-day work week? ***Image from Pexels***

3 Steps to Achieve a Zero Waste Bathroom To achieve a zero waste bathroom, consider all the products and toiletries in your bathroom. Do an audit of all the products lying around in the cabinets, the windowsill, on the counter, in the shower and under the sink. Take out all the free samples that you have been meaning to try and all the travel sized products that you are saving from your previous holiday and for your next adventure. Now you are all set to start your low waste journey. Step 1 to a Zero Waste Bathroom Create a pile for expired products or products that are too old and that need to go. Add all the products that have passed their expiry dates or products that have started smelling funky. Don’t toss this pile in your trash just yet. Some products that can be repurposed even past their best before date: **Skin Toner** – Use Expired skin toner to clean mirrors and keep them sparkling. Spray the toner on the mirror and wipe clean with a cotton cloth. **Shampoo** – Use expired shampoo as a sink cleaner. Apply a small amount to the sink, use an old brush or scrubbie and scrub in circular motions. Rinse well. **Toothbrush** – Use old toothbrushes to clean around the faucets and hair traps of sinks and shower. **Hand wash, face wash, body wash** – Use expired hand wash, face wash or body wash as a makeup brush cleanser. Step 2 Create a pile for products that have not expired but you no longer use. All of us have been through this. We are excited about a new product, but when we use it, we do not like it at all. And this just sits under the sink for a long time. Or maybe a product that is not opened but you no longer use. As you keep adding to this pile, make a mental note if any of your family or friends would enjoy using the product. If yes, check with them and pass it on. Check if there is a provision in your community or locality to donate used or new products. Sometimes, we learn more about our community by asking around. Step 3 Create a pile for all the products you use. The products from this pile is what goes back to your cabinets, in the shower etc. If there are way too many products in this pile, it is alright. There is nothing to be ashamed of or feel guilty about. As you start running out of these products, try to buy sustainable versions for the product. For example, can you take your container for a refill? Does it come in sustainable packaging? Is there an environmental friendly option that uses less chemicals? Is there a DIY that you always wanted to try? No matter what you choose, it is a good start your journey to a sustainable lifestyle without being wasteful. Once all the products have been sorted, and you have put back those products that you use, it is time to visit the recycling center. Dispose plastic containers from the trash pile in the plastic recycle bins. The two most important factors to a maintaining low waste lifestyle is to shop responsibly and say no to products or sample packs or free products if you will not use it. Say no to sample packs if they have too much plastic packaging. Say no to sample packs if the ingredients are not environmental friendly. Refusing what you do not need is one of the easiest way to achieving your Zero waste goals.

My Little Introduction Its been over a few days, that I registered on read.cash and I thought to myself that this would be a perfect time for me to make my little introduction. Let’s just call my name is A crypto Tale. Family and friends don’t call me that to be honest. Dubai has been my home for the past 10 years but I am originally from the Southern parts of India. I am a freelance website developer and SEO consultant and have created many a website for my clients. Being a freelancer, there are times when you are very busy and times when you have the time to explore other opportunities. So, this is one of my other opportunities that I found while searching the internet.   I enjoy writing and in fact, when I started my career many, many, many, years ago, I started off as a Copy writer. Writing was fun. Writing is still fun. I journal on a daily basis and it keeps me sane and happy. I write on Quora, have my blog, have a deviant art account where I upload my poems and now, I am here. I will keep this a light read, talk about random topics everyday (Every Day did you say? Let’s see how that goes for you) Now that you know how I earn my living, let me tell a few things that I do when I am not sitting in front of a computer. I enjoy cooking but more than the cooking itself, I am an avid meal prepper. I prep most of my meals in advance. It feels like therapy, it is calming and gives me an immediate sense of gratification and achievement. When I am not working or in the kitchen, I can be a sloth. I can spend hours doing nothing and still be so exhausted at the end of the day. I am a dreamer and then again who isn’t a dreamer. My mantra for read.cash would be Dream On… Write Away.

10 Personal Care Products I No Longer Buy I grew up in a small town in Southern India. The town had a couple of grocery stores, where we could buy just the basic essentials required for everyday living. Many of the products below were either unheard of or had to be ordered in advance, to be received at the next visit to the store. Over a period of time, as development trickled into my small town and consumerism took roots in my being, I associated non commercial products to be almost sickening, forgetting generations before me lived happily without the need for a lot of products in their lives. I have compiled the top 10 personal care products I no longer buy as I have alternatives that can be concocted in the kitchen or have found environment-friendly options that serve multiple purposes. It has been more than a year that I stopped using the below products and I do not miss them at all. **Hand Wash** Hand wash is the **very first** product I stopped buying in the personal care section. This was over a 18 months ago. I ordered a bottle of 32 oz liquid castile soap from an online store and have been making hand wash and foaming hand wash ever since. I re-purposed old hand wash foaming bottles and hand wash bottles for the same. Though I still use the few plastic foaming containers, I will be switching them to glass bottles once it is time to toss the plastic containers. The Castile soap does come in a plastic container, but I need only one 32 oz bottle a year, so it is a trade off between one plastic bottle vs multiple plastic bottles. **Hair Conditioner** Considering that my hair is dry and frizzy, I may have tried a number of conditioners to tame my mane. And my experience has taught me that conditioners did nothing remarkably different for my hair. I do a apple cider mixed with water rinse every alternate hair wash and my hair feels super soft after the rinse. **Face Toner** Before i switched to home made recipes for a toner, I experimented for a little bit with witch hazel. That seemed to break my skin out. But since I started using the home made recipes, my skin has been well behaved. I have 2 few favorites – green tea in rice water and star anise water. They soothe the skin and leave the skin feeling baby bottom soft. **Tooth Powder / paste** I absolutely love my home made tooth powder for the morning and the coconut and baking soda mixture at night. I make the paste and the powder and they last me a long long time. And the cost to make this is probably a fraction of what a commercial toothpaste costs. **Body Wash and Body Scrub** I enjoy the coffee scrub made at home. I use a powder (recipe from my mother) as a body wash. I can find most of the ingredients to make the powder in the kitchen and the powder once made lasts a very long time. I add some water to the paste in a bowl and get it to form a thick paste and us this as a body wash. Some days, I use the organic black soap as a body wash. **Creams and Lotions** It has been a year since I used any commercial products as a – day cream, night cream, under eye serum or body lotion. I use Jojoba oil as my day cream and body lotion. I add a few drops of essential oils and it smells absolutely wonderful. Aloe Vera gel has been another favorite of mine. **Cotton Rounds & Loofah** Since I enjoy crochet as a hobby, I started making wash cloth and make up removal cloths. I use 100% cotton yarn for this purpose. They do the job well, leaves no trace of make up, oil or dirt. **Panty liners, Sanitary Pads & Tampons** This has been the most awkward change of all the alternatives I have adopted so far. I use reusable cloth panty liners, reusable pads and menstrual cup for a zero waste period. Sure, it does take me a few extra minutes to rinse the pads before I put it for wash, but knowing that I am not going to toss something in the trash that would probably take anywhere between 500 – 800 years to decompose motivates me to do this. **Deodorant** I stopped using deodorants a very long time ago. But it is only been a year since I discovered the alternatives. I use coconut oil and baking soda or crystal salt as a deodorant. The crystal salt is convenient to carry in a bag and the coconut oil and baking soda with a few drops of peppermint essential oil doubles as my toothpaste as well. I take as much as I need in a spoon, so I can use this for 2 separate uses. **Razor** I bid adieu to waxing. It is my opinion that there is way too much effort and time involved to waxing without generating much waste and too much waste if I go to the salon. So. a reusable safety razor is a convenience I choose. **How does it make a difference:** There are fewer to no toxins going down my drain and I do not have plastic bottles to take to the recycling station. My grocery trip does not require me to go to the Personal care section often and this has saves me money too. A total win-win for me. *Image from Pixabay *Original on My Blog - https://eco-everything.com/10-personal-care-products-i-no-longer-buy/
