Is This Life Worth It?
I stand up on a high mountain looking at the world and we, living in it and I ask myself " is this life worth it?". I know this may seem as a kind of suicide note but trust me, it is not. Instead, it is a gentle reminder that gives you a knock everytime you are about to do something. Let's view it from the beginning, what is life? Now, don't expect an ambiguous definition, life is short and simple so should its definition be. "Life is a market where we hustle day and night to make a meaning for ourselves to return home in the end". So why should a market value more to us than our home? Our final destination should be our utmost priority. Everyday, I wonder why we take this life with so much value. Life is vanity. Why should we lose our moral sense just to impress a world that will one day be no more? I wonder why we sacrifice our nudity for few likes and follows. These likes and follows can never match up to the sacredness of our bodies. No one wants to live a simple life, we all want to be famous no matter what. We see a simple life as a poor life. No one wants to be caught unfresh. Life looks at man as he aims to achieve a lot, all his tools day and night, his evil acts and then life says to itself, all this evil acts and then life says to itself, all this endless troubles to in the end return to sand. I take a sigh. What has the world become? Man's behaviour can only be determined by the condition he finds himself. A man who cries to God day and night to fulfil his wishes turns away from the path of the Lord once his wishes are granted. He forgets the doorsteps of the house of the Lord. He takes God for a genie "grant me three wishes and you are no more". How comical! Do you think you are wiser than your creator? The eye of the kind has been rendered blind. The theory of " the giver never lacks" has become a thing of fallacy. The rich wants to become more rich and render the poor more poor. All have forgotten that we came to this world with nothing and we shall leave with nothing. Let me share a brief story with you: " There once lived a young man who had just received his salary. He immediately left the office and headed home. He was very happy as thoughts of what he would buy ran across his mind. He came across a blind old man begging for money. He thought of giving but his selfish instincts made him not to. As he continued his journey home, he met a young child asking for money to get a sachet of water. This man ignored him and continued his journey. Few miles to get to his house, this young man was hit by a truck and that was the end of the young man. Life! This world of vanity. The man could not spend the money he clutched to so severely" A piece of advice is enough for the wise. Let's take a break from our daily hustle, sit down and think. Let's remember the day we will be no more. That day when only our deeds will speak for us. If you are good at doing good, continue and if you are good at doing evil, continue. All I want you to know is that both good and evil, none shall go to vain. I drop my pen at this moment leaving you with this gentle reminder " Is this life worth it?"
