Neutron Cash first release
Today I am releasing Neutron Cash, a Neutrino powered wallet. This first release includes a portable executable for Windows and an AppImage file for Linux systems. The source code can be found here: https://github.com/musashidev/neutron-cash In order to open the wallet you need to have the bchwallet folder in the same location as the Neutron Cash executable. This folder contains the bchwallet from https://github.com/gcash/bchwallet and is launched by the wallet. So be sure that both files have the appropriate permissions. You can download the compiled binaries from here: https://github.com/musashidev/neutron-cash/releases/tag/v0.1.0 This is experimental software and should be used with caution, as long as you save the mnemonic seed your funds should be safe. **Please report any bugs that you encounter while testing this app.** At the moment don't keep any significant amount of funds in this wallet. Known bugs Some unconfirmed transactions will not appear until confirmed (If they don't the wallet should be recovered from seed). The wallet file may be corrupted if you try to recover a new wallet while Neutron Cash is recovering a previous one.

Is this trying to compete more with EC (power users) or bitcoin.com (newbies) wallets? Or the idea is something else entirely?
This wallet takes a different approach than the EC or bitcoin.com wallets. The neutrino protocol focuses on the user privacy and it is the only non full node implementation that doesn't leak the addresses of their users to third party servers. Here you can find more information: https://neutrino.cash/
is this going to be desktop only, or desktop focused?
At this moment the code only works on desktop platforms. For mobile you can use the neutrino app that uses the same back end https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=cash.bchd.android_neutrino
ok, so to compete in the privacy desktop wallets with EC, you need to add fusion as well right? :)
Digital money for the next generations to come. BCH is rising
