Adulting hits rock-hard. February 18, 2022 Adulting somehow draws friendships apart. Why? Because in my point of view, we are all busy with life and work and we barely have time to see old friends and have a good time. Unlike in highschool and in college wherein we can hang out everyday and not get bored and get sick of each other's faces. Now, we can only communicate through the comments, we can only tag them on memes that we find relatable. We can only leave reactions on the photos that appear on the memories. Setting up a schedule for future meet-ups is already difficult. In my case, two of my friends already have their own family and are already living in the city, one is working outside of out town too and even the two who are left in our barangay seems to be impossible to reach too. One is busy handling their family business and the other one is also busy of I don't know what she's up to. Adulting really hits hard. We are all geared towards working, providing for our needs, surviving, battling against existential crisis and all the other issues. We are finding our ways on how we are going to give back to our parents while doing our passion. We are torn between pursuing our dreams or putting it on hold because we needed to work full-time. Things like that makes us busy and occupied everyday that friendship day out would not come across our minds anymore. There are instances too when some young people find the need to work hard so they would be the "most accomplished" or the "wealthiest" among their circle. It is like they are proving their worth to a certain group of people. These days, online classes are back on operating again. Most of our fellow online teachers have already found greener pastures already after the typhoon. Some teachers that are left are planning to leave to in search for better opportunities. Two of my friends got hires in their field of expertise. Another classmate of mine told me that she will be enrolling for masters in a prestigious university. My friend from highschool also moved to another city just yesterday because a job is waiting for her there. My sister in Cebu has resigned from her work to be able to attend the demo and interview for ranking. But just this morning, another memo was released saying that the schedules are moved. Wow, what a life! Life is really a roller-coaster ride. Just when you though that you have everything figured out, life would pull tricks and pranks on you. These are all not funny. Remember how many times have you cried in your sleep just because of this adulting thingy. Some of us would want to be just dinosaurs. (Pa ror ror lang) No pressure. But they say when you only want to be a dinosaur na pa ror ror lang. It means that you are a lazy person and you hate to work. I hate to admit this but there are many times wherein we feel tired and useless. Times wherein life will suck the best of us. It seems like our dreams are out of reach. We just only want to be moisturized, happy, flourishing, in our lane and at peace. But achieving those things altogether seemed like winning the lottery. Too impossible. Instead, we find ourselves drained, pressured, unhappy, unpassionate about the things that we do. We feel forced. We are happy for just seconds. The joy never lives in us. But even so, let us continue pushing ourselves forward. There is no other way. No turning back. This is our mission. Let us do our best in whatever things that we have to do. Maybe in the next horizon, better things are waiting for us. Thank you for reading. I hope and pray that we will be accomplished and happy adults in the future. Until then. *Lead Image is from Unsplash.com
This is a real food for thought. I have always wondered what adulthood feels like, taking responsibilities and all and maybe this kinda put a little bit of fear in me..... Educative article... I am highly impressed.
Aw thanks. Please enjor your youth and don't be in a hurry of growing up.
Okay, Anyways am pleased meeting you. .
True mamsh, that's our life. Whatever happens we shouldn't turning back instead give our best. Continue what we started. Never give up.
Lagi maamsh laban ra laman ta ani
Mao gayud mamsh. Fighting lang permi. 💪
Adulting is indeed difficult, but for me real friendship stays even tho schedules won't match anymore. True friendship doesn't mean we have to communicate and hang out every time, but rather know that you got each other's back any time even you don't always talk to one another ;)
Sometimes, we cannot lend a listening ear because of our busyness.
And true friend can also understand that
True kaayu sis. Kutob nalang mi plano na magkita pero wajud madayun kay naay dika uban. Hays. Kalisud jud .
Lage no dapat present tanan
Kung naay time pajod. Usahay di na complete
Well discussed, but for me, adulting made us sometimes choose the best thing rather than pleasure so it's really accepting that friends we had could be more they choosy to be with something more important hehe. well for me. once a year hanging along is a treasure. They never forgot to visit me even I am far from them hehe. Adulting hits hard, but that's must be hehe.
We really have different perspective on adulting but whatever it is, still we go through the process..

Adulting is challenging, but friends will always be there no matter how busy we are. We just learned to move on with life knowing that the people who care for us are always there on the sides cheering for us.
Yes sis. That is true.
Gahhh, adulting... Haysttt
Mahirap buhayin kahit sarili sis.
Adulting is much harder than I thought grabe life is already hard na nga talaga when we are growing up, this is the harder phase of every single day that we are going on this journey.
True. Kahit walang anak at single, struggling pa din kung hindi sa financial aspect, I'm sure meron issue sa ibam
Agree madam even you have sapat na money to support you everyday need may ibang issue pa din na dadating dadating that makes your life much way more harder than it is.
Pak perfect. Walang perfect na buhay talaga
Pait molang
Murag ampalaya😝
Never be complacent for change will always come. Arm yourself with the skills and knowledge that will help you get through and get going.
Maybe that is what makes me fearful of change, I am doubtful of myself and I am not confident if thr skills I have is already enough for me to get through. Maybe there is no such thing as enough skill. We have to harness it from time to time.
