Balsa Cafe from my memory lane

I have read an article wherein a user here had a coffee date with her sister and cousin. I commented that I would love to do that but there is no coffee shop nearby. Surprisingly, I bumped into an old photo of mine where we visited a cafe. My friend and her cousin were my companion that time.

The year was 2018, we were set to go home but then the adventurous side of us didn't follow our schedule and routine. We visited this place. A cafe located in the middle of ricefield. It is made of light materials. Basically, an improvised nipa hut.

This is the aerial view of the cafe. You will be surrounded with all things green while you are in the brown nipa hut that is not that small.

We went there as soon as the sun started to set. We were not able to take a good photo of the cafe while the sun is already there but we got this instead. They have wondeful lighting to which my friend described as sophisticated and elegant. The ambiance is pleasant and soothing.

We ordered chocolate shakes I guess if I remember correctly. Our brain freezed the moment we sip on the ice cold coffee.

We also had some fries. Only cheap snacks because we were still students. We can only afford fries and shakes. lol.

There were also some good books displayed at the cafe and you can choose from them so you can have a photo of yourself fake-reading. Of course! You can also read there for real for some time. Most of the book their were written by Bo Sanchez. There were also books about investments, accounting and financial independence.

Here is my friend enjoying her drink. The cafe did not have an entrance fee at that time so we opt to order few so it won't be that shameful to just visit and have nothing to do at that scenic and relaxing place. I guess buying even few of their snacks is a means of supporting their business.

Leaving you with this antique and aesthetic lamp and quote. Please make sure to light up your dark life once in a while. When your routine is dull and unalive, please take time to shine light on your soul and make it grow by providing it with peace and relaxation that it desperately need.

As of today, the cafe is still closed because it was also affected by typhoon Odette. I'm thankful that we had a chance to sneak out and visit the place from the previous years. At least, we have something as a remembrance when times like these comes.

Time will be the ultimate healer, of course. In no time, the cafe will surely bounce back and be alive again as their are avid customers waiting for them to re-open.

Aside from the destructions of the residential homes, there are a lot more of destructions that the supertyphoon has made. Business establishments operations were put on halt too. I just hope that the rehabilitation will be done as fast as they can.
