Why do we say good night? Finding the actual origin of why we say "good night" to each other before going to bed is not an easy thing to do. There doesn't appear to be one clear cut reason why we do this. Many people believe it's just a nice thing to do in the same way that we say "good morning" to someone when we see them for the first time in the morning. But whatever the actual reason is, there are a few things that we are able to communicate by saying it. We can say it as a way of wishing someone a wonderful night sleep. Or, if we are simply parting ways with someone for the day, we can say it as a way of wishing that they enjoy the rest of their day. And, when we say it to our family members, we can use it as a way of communicating that we love them. It's a good way to end the day and to let someone know that we care.
