One of such libraries was the "House of Wisdom" in Baghdad, founded by Caliph Harun al-Rashid and reached its peak during the reign of Mamun al-Rashid. It was not just a library but a great university that housed researchers, thinkers, readers and debaters. The translators were always busy translating the books that Harun al-Rashid and Mamun al-Rashid had obtained after the conquests of Ankara, Amoriya and Cyprus. Ibn Nadeem says that at one time there was an agreement between Mamun al-Rashid and the king of Rome on the condition that he would allow the translation of all his books and that the translation would be done by those whom Mamun would send. So it happened and all the Roman knowledge was transferred to the Arabic language. It is a golden example of history that in the eyes of a conqueror, victory was of no greater value than passing on knowledge and art to the people of his nation. In addition, the Islamic world of Andalusia, Tripoli, Damascus, Hijaz, the whole of Arabia and Ajam was adorned with books and libraries of science and art at that time.
