Even a stay-at-home mom, works too!
Society expects women to stay at home to take care of the house and the kids. But in reality, only those who are privileged people can do such a thing. In order to have something to eat, women go out and work. Spend their precious time just to earn enough money to have something on their family's plate.
All moms are working. Fortunate for those who can work at home to be with their kids. They are earning money while having the chance to take care of their kids and their houses. Not easy but much better set up compared to those who need to go out for work.
When the pandemic happened, many companies started to adopt the work-from-home situation. As some of the workloads turn out that can be done even without the need to report to the office. But there are still a lot who required their employees to report on site. Simply because their workload can not be done at home.
And here the problem comes out, is there a need to work outside? That is the main dilemma of every working mother.
While busy at work, half of our minds stay at home. Thinking about what is happening to our kids and the house. Are they eating healthy? Are they playing safely? Have they drunk their milk yet? And so on. But we can't do anything until we reached our home and personally meet them. That is the only time our hearts and minds will be at ease.
Every time we decide to go out to be at work, we experience separation anxiety. It is and will never be easy to leave someone we love. No mother wants to be left behind with what is happening to her kids' lives. Every mom's dream is to be with her children 24/7 if possible especially when they are still young. But due to many reasons, some of us are needed to spend more time at work than at the house. A sad reality that makes us feel guilty somehow.
But let me tell you this.
As a mother, aside from taking good care of our kids, providing for their needs is essential too. So don't ever feel guilty if you will miss some of the important firsts or milestones of your kids.
Think about it. Your priority now is your family, so you give all out to make sure they will have a comfortable life.
As their parents, we are obliged to provide them with the things they need to have a better future. A future they deserved to live with.
Just never forget to give your time to them whenever it is possible. Never let a day pass that you did not hold your kid's hand or asked them what's going on in their lives. Make sure to have quality time with them. Make every conversation memorable. Hug them tight. Say to them you love them.
And always know that you are indeed a Wonder Woman. You are doing a great job. Never doubt yourself and never hesitate to ask for help if needed.
