Do you have kids in your house? Do you wonder why most of the time they don't listen to whatever you are saying? They aren't deaf, they are just not good listeners. But one thing they are great at is by copying every single action we do in front of them.

From www.funforepkids.com

Children look up at us, adults, and tend to copy all the things we do. From the way we comb our hair up to how we wear our shoes. They like imitating the actions they see around them especially those who are dear to them, like their parents and siblings. Some elders who live with them or other close friends who they see most of the time.

That is why adults, parents especially, should be more extra cautious when in front of their children, or even just random kids.

But why do they do that?

From www.depositphotos.com

Simply because kids feel the connection between the person they are copying and them. If you'll notice, as a child grows up we comment that he has his father's way of eating the bread or sometimes he got the way his mother sit and talk. The connection between the parents and their kids is undeniable can be seen in how their kids' act, talk and interact. Kids see themselves in us, every time they will copy the way we groan every morning or how we brush our teeth at night.

It also helps the kids to be independent. Our kids will see how to prepare the meal alone or how to open the television will make him think that he can do the same too. You can let him do some of these things, but don't ever leave your eyes on them.

Mimicking helps our kids to develop their skills, from new language learning, social skills and even some motor skills too. As they say, kids learn new things by just watching us. Kids seeing their parents talk with others will likely copy the action of how they talk and interact. So better watch out how you communicate with your neighbor especially if your kid is around.

Parents play a vital role here. The developing stage of any kid starts at home and it is up to us, parents, how we are going to be a model to them. We have two options here, one is to show them the beauty and kindness of the world, or two, let them realize how chaotic the world is as early as two years old.

Before anything else, check these awesome people's works too. They all rock!

Every adult should be reminded that whatever you do, may it be good or not, in the eyes of a young innocent kid everything is right. So be mindful of your actions, someone is watching you.

My Thoughts

It is safe to say that what you are now is a reflection of how your parents raised you. But let us not forget that there are still a lot of factors that can contribute to someone's attitude and well-being. Check the peers you are with right now or the shows you are currently watching, it tells you who you are.

Korek!

Kids are always good at mimicking or copying. When I was reviewing the board exam for teachers, there's a certain age of a child's development where their best form of learning is through modeling.

Yes you're right sis. We should be aware our actions and what are the words we say since children seeing us. They will copy from it and doing this kind of things too.

A fast imitator and possibly bring it until they became adult. It's not good for them..
