THE PUPPET If for an instant God forgot that I am a rag puppet and he will give me a piece of life, possibly he wouldn't say everything I think, but ultimately he would think everything I say. He would value things, not for what they are worth, but because of what they mean. I would sleep little, dream more, I understand that for every minute that we close our eyes, we lose sixty seconds of light. I would walk when others stop, I would wake up when others sleep. I would listen when others speak, and how you would enjoy a good chocolate ice cream. If God gave me a piece of life, I would dress plain, he would throw me face first into the sun, exposing not only my body but my soul. My God if I had a heart I would write my hatred on ice And I'd wait for the sun to come up I'd paint with a Van Gogh dream above the stars a poem by Benedetti, and a song by Serrat would be the serenade that I would offer to the moon. I would water the roses with tears, to feel the pain of their thorns, and the red kiss of his petal ... My God, if I had a piece of life ... I wouldn't let a single day go by without telling people that I love them, that I love them. I would convince every woman or man that they are my favorites and I would live in love with love. I would prove to men how wrong they are, thinking that they stop falling in love when they get old, without knowing that they grow old when they stop falling in love. I'd give a child wings but he would let him just learn to fly. I would teach the old men that death it does not come with old age but with oblivion. So many things I have learned from you men I've learned that everyone wants to live In the top of the mountain, Without knowing that true happiness is on the way up the crag. I have learned that when a newborn squeeze with his little fist, for the first time, the finger of his father, he has him trapped forever. I have learned that a man he only has the right to look down on another, when he is to help him up. There are so many things that I have been able to learn from you, but really they will not be of much use, because when they keep me inside that suitcase, unfortunately I will be dying.
